Have you visited any of the wonders
We have visited one of the seven wonders, Halong Bay in Vietnam, and it really is a beautiful and fascinating place. Have you visited any of the sites, or thought about visiting any of them?
Agneta says:
no, I haven't visited any of them and probably won't be allowed to do so either! but now I should probably not think so negatively, who knows what the future holds for travelling now that Biggen is no longer with us?

Komodo! Nice islands, good diving and when we were ashore I stayed close to the guide with the wooden stick that would defend us against the huge monitor lizards (who ate e.g. pigs and deer), in fact I don't think we would have had so much to oppose if they really wanted to hurt us. There and on Svalbard are probably the places where I felt really stressed/on edge because of large animals.

Yes, after more than 400 old university credits, I have seen the occasional "typical" scientist too, apropos of your comment on my post.

I have not seen a single one of them!
However, I have realised that Vietnam is a fabulously beautiful country. My father-in-law was there during the Vietnam War and he says it's the most beautiful country he's ever seen.

Agneta, you never know in life. By the way, I think there are many other wonderful places to see and experience!
Johanna, Komodo sounds fantastic... except for the monitor lizards. Polar bears do not feel completely safe either... Actually, I don't think I've been anywhere where I've been so worried about wild animals. Possibly in Tanzania, when we slept in tents. I didn't feel completely safe when I snuck to the toilet through the grass in the middle of the night... 😉.
Inga Magnusson, can imagine that. There are usually some "inventories"
😉
Annika, Vietnam is beautiful! However, I'm glad that I didn't have to visit it during the period when your father-in-law did...

Oh, there are so many things I would like to see and do... I haven't yet seen any of the things mentioned here, hopefully it will be Vietnnam for Easter anyway!

Marina, how nice that you are going to Vietnam! We liked Vietnam very much: beautiful and friendly people. If you are near Hanoi, make sure to go to Halong bay! You can go with one of the boats and stay there for a night, very nice!

Just Another Crazy Blonde, if you get the chance! It's sooo nice. Maybe as a detour from Thailand on occasion...?

Just came from Halong Bay which was fantastically beautiful with a huge cave and wonderful nature but unfortunately there were far too many tourists. You went in a long long queue into the cave and queue up to one of the mountain peaks and tourist boats just everywhere!!!! It was not possible to take a single photo of only nature! Unfortunately far too exploited for my taste. Still fun to have seen it!
