Motorhome life is almost always super cosy, but sometimes things don't turn out the way you expect them to ... One of our first trips was to Trosa, and that trip didn't turn out at all like we had imagined.
We didn't know the motorhome very well and plugged in too many electrical appliances (vacuum cleaner and kettle), resulting in a broken plug and no electricity. Then it turned out that a water pipe had frozen. Water leaked all over the floor and we had to fetch water in buckets ...
The misery did not end
But the misery didn't end there! I got a migraine and got really bad. Peter cooked a good dinner ... and I threw up everything. Good thing we didn't give up on motorhome life right then and there! Have you ever been on a motorhome trip that didn't turn out the way you expected...?
Across the board says:
Yep. 2008 when we had our new Hobby. On the way home we got stuck in Brenner and had to take a tow truck down to Innsbruck. It was a little unnecessarily exciting

Across and across, thanks for reading! How scary that the brake broke in the Brenner Pass! You can really be involved in all sorts of things... But it's good to hear that the assistance service worked as it should! Funny by the way that you visited Chioggia, it is a place my Italian colleague usually recommends, but we have not been there.

No, how boring! It is so typical that such things happen when you just want to enjoy life!

Yes, it could be our very first trip abroad, we did not check anything ... just pulled away ... found no place to stand when we arrived at the Mediterranean ... just be in a chaos-like car queue that never ended to follow the line ... in 45 degree heat ... finally after a whole day and I got heat stroke and almost (completely) freaked out, we came to a campsite in Antibes and could camp.
Otherwise, we've done pretty well, pepper pepper pepper....
No fun working outside in this weather, let's hope it doesn't last too long.
And I haven't seen any cannon yet:)

Ninni and the Hjulius motorhome in a corner says:
No, that doesn't sound like fun! But as you said, luckily you did not give up motorhome life there.
Pepper pepper pepper take in wood - we have not encountered anything to talk about yet. Yes, last year when Hjulius was completely new to us and we were going to start fixing and arranging and see if everything was on G before the trip to Amsterdam, it turned out that one of the two heating systems was broken so it leaked a little here and there, but it could be disconnected as luck would have it... yes something like that.
Then we had some luck when we booked a campsite in Amsterdam.
There was nothing on the website then about how big the pitches were, how many electric pitches there were, etc. We booked for two motorhomes - and luckily we happened to get the two at the far end of a corner, so to speak, because the electric pitches were super small!!! SO crowded as it could only be... if we had got a place in the middle of the row, neither we nor our acquaintances would have had room to get there. Yes, then a bunch of cars would have had to move first and how fun is it to ask people to move their cars when they have perhaps awning, awning, chairs etc picked out.
But everything went well but it took some time to adjust in place haha.

Good thing you didn't give up there!
Instead, you got blood on your hands.
Yes, sometimes bad luck really does come one after the other...

Leena, I recognise it a bit... with traffic jams and not finding anywhere to camp. We don't usually book, and sometimes we've experienced that everywhere is full...
Ninni, yes, it can be a little messy at some campsites and sometimes you need a little luck. Some places can really be super small!
Annika, yes, that's how it often is ... that everything comes at once! But then it hopefully turns around

Ama de casa says:
Hmmm... It should be in the summer maybe. We were going camping for four weeks, and we were out all that time. The mistake was that we camped a total of 4 nights, the rest was in a hotel and a week on a canal boat 🙂.

Ama de casa, it doesn't sound like it was too bad for you anyway... We camp all the time when we're out, but that "Jesolo International" campsite was kind of like staying in a hotel....
