New shelves in the motorhome! In the wardrobe, next to the kitchen, we have previously only had some hangers with jackets. Now Peter has built shelves there instead, so we can use the cupboard as a pantry. It feels like we will have room for much more!
New shelves in the motorhome - a pantry
Between the bed and the kitchen in our motorhome is a high cupboard, which is probably intended as a wardrobe. In the past we've also stored jackets and dresses here, but there's not much room. We have storage for clothes in the motorhome garage, so we don't need this wardrobe. However, we do need an extra pantry, and a place to store our coffee machine.
Peter installed three shelves of solid shelving. Now there is plenty of room for storage! On one of the shelves we will have our coffee machine. On the other shelves we will store things like toilet and kitchen paper, paper plates and plastic cups and maybe beer, wine or water. It feels like we have lots of extra storage space.
Other storage in the kitchen
Now we think we have quite a lot of storage space in the kitchen. In addition to the tall cabinet with all the shelves, we have two kitchen cabinets above the stove, and both cabinets and drawers under the stove. There are also two cabinets above the dining table.
In the cabinets above the stove we have baskets covered in fabric, which we bought at Ikea. These are great for keeping everything from rolling around in the cabinets while driving. The fabric also helps to reduce rattling and clanking. In these baskets we usually have spices, tins, powdered soups, biscuits and snacks and so on. In the cupboard next door we have rice, pasta and bread.

Nice to see how others fix and tinker in their cars. A little curious what kind of projects you are doing.

There is so much in a motorhome that can be modified and improved, both large and small. That's actually part of the charm. After all, you have to live a little in the motorhome to "learn" how best to improve and facilitate life in the motorhome, right?

Compact living ideas come into play in situations like this. You have to think smart in a small space and these were great solutions....

Always nice to have more storage, always feels like a shortage. Where is the next trip with the motorhome?

Leena, March is almost here... great! We will not wait long before we leave with the motorhome!
Emmy, yes it does help when you have a small area.
😉
Seniors Speculate, agree! Constraints breed creativity!
Ma, yes you really have to think when you live in a motorhome! But it's a fun challenge!
Dila, this spring there will be some weekend trips here and there in Sweden... where is not decided yet. In the summer it will probably be a slightly longer trip... maybe the Baltics? Poland? Kaliningrad? We haven't really decided yet...

Hello and thank you for the website
We are about to embark on a trip down to Europe. We have previously travelled by sailboat to the Mediterranean and will now try the land route. Tricky to prepare with all the rules and regulations. Among other things, signs and stickers about the car's cleaning and emissions make it difficult, we think. We have a Euro 6 engine, but most countries have the same requirements but different types of stickers to show this. Is this a problem in practice, or? What are your experiences?
