Now we have tried city camping in Linköping! After a nice visit to Sandvik's camping outside the city, it was instead city camping in a parking lot in the centre of Linköping. Then it was dinner and party night!

Sandvik campsite
On Saturday we checked out from Sandvik campsite, where we stood nicely by the water and had a nice meeting with motorhome friends. Now it was time to go to the centre of Linköping!
Citycamping in Linköping
We parked in a car park on Ågatan (13 kr/half hour until 15:00 and then free until Monday morning). With such a city camping in Linköping, it is only a few metres to walk to the restaurants and nightclubs ...
Dinner and festive evening
During the day we strolled around Linköping, and towards the evening it was time to find somewhere to eat. We had dinner at Harry's outdoor restaurant: With heat lamps and blankets, it was actually really nice to sit outside! It was full of people everywhere and a really good atmosphere. We must say that Ågatan in Linköping is very nice in the spring and summer with all the outdoor cafes that are close together. Here we were actually also visiting in 2010.
After dinner we went to Harry's and danced until they closed at three in the morning. You can walk freely between the venues, which are next door to each other, making it really big and there are many dance floors to choose from.
Visiting the motorhome
The night ended with us inviting a nice young couple we met at Harry's, Lisen and Adam, for a beer in our campervan. In other words, we sat up and talked for a few more hours! It was not that we woke up especially early this morning, you could say ...

Smart to camp in the centre of town! But only your imagination limits...

Linköping has the most dedicated police officers in the country, at least I think so. I parked (not sure if it was Ågatan) in a BIG car park for buses. There was not a single bus there. We parked and left the motorhome there for a couple of hours on a Sunday morning. When we came out, there were heavy fines. I promised the police to erase Linköping from my map, but they don't listen to such nonsense. Pay up or go to court!

Matts, doesn't sound like much fun... We managed to avoid a fine... We parked in a regular car park and paid the fee, but then you can never be sure if they think the car is sticking out of some semi-visible line or whatever...
