We were asked who our 'Sweden favourites' are. It's not an easy question to answer, but here are five favourites. And now we are very curious ... who are your favourite Swedes?
Table of contents
Stockholm archipelago
It's always wonderful in the archipelago in the summer, and great with all the boat trips that run between the islands.
Trosa
Trosa is an incredibly charming city to walk around, with cosy little cafes and restaurants.
Smögen
Smögen is charming with lovely fresh air and, perhaps best of all, fantastic seafood!
Gothenburg
Gothenburg is a city with a great atmosphere, especially in the summer, and we usually have fun when we go out and party here!
Halmstad and Tylösand
I Halmstad and Tylösand I spent the summers of my childhood, and when the weather is nice, it's really perfect for sunbathing and swimming.
Across the board says:
It's always difficult to choose a few, but the gem that I prioritise is Smednäset, Linghed, just north of Falun. The morning is balmy there, I take a morning dip in the mirror-like lake and when I get back to the car I smell coffee and freshly baked bread. Mmmmmm......

We thought Liens camping in Riddarhyttan was a nice place.
swimming, fishing, hiking and just the right size !!!!
Try this campsite if you're passing through and you'll be able to
see for yourself.....

Thanks for the tips! I am very familiar with the west coast and can only agree! Maybe it's now time to discover the gems of the east coast too!

Criss-cross, sounds like a real favourite place!
Spindeltjejen, many nice places! Have actually not been so much at Vättern and Vänern myself, except that you go past sometimes and think it's nice.
Rolle and Carina, thanks for the tips! Always good with tips on nice places, so if we go in that direction on occasion... (had to check the map where it was located...).
Ellinor, yes the west coast is nice! Have probably been there almost more than on the east coast, but the Stockholm archipelago is nice almost everywhere.

Mr Lars Permelin says:
Isn't it a bit hard to drive a motorhome in the Stockholm archipelago?

Pia says:
Goteborg and my childhood summer town Varberg with its Apelviken, torgdag and Getteron! The Vastkusten always has a special place in my heart!
Other favourites, Fjallbacka, Trosa (which you also name) and Granna and Visingso!
Lilla Marks municipality where I come from is also very beautiful in the summer with many small nice lakes around!

Lars Permelin, it depends on...? In the picture we have travelled with the motorhome to Blidö (car ferry). If you want to make day boat trips to different islands, you have to leave the motorhome on the mainland for the day...?
Pia, yes the west coast is nice and also Fjällbacka! On Visingsö I have not been!

The Stockholm archipelago is also my favourite. Many of the islands can also be reached via various car ferries and you can actually take a boat to where you are going too...

Seniors Speculate says:
Öland is probably our favourite, especially the eastern side. But there are many beautiful places in the Blekinge archipelago that we really like. Our outsider is Dalsland, an underrated landscape, almost forgotten by us Swedes. It is full of idylls and nature experiences, not least along the Dalsland canal. 3M

Ma, yes, there are car ferries here and there!
Seniors Speculate, Öland I have almost missed unfortunately (except for a short visit when I was a kid) and Dalsland I probably don't know much about either. A lot left to discover then!

Now we live where we live ... in Norrland, so we have not travelled so far down in Sweden, until now when we are on our European trip. But we did not have time to see so much then either:) But in any case, the Stockholm archipelago is probably close in any case;) as a favourite for us.
