Rullsands camping is a nice campsite outside Gävle. The location of the campsite is very nice and there is also a lovely sandy beach nearby. There are also cottages and the site is also known for its naturist bath. Definitely worth one or more visits!
Rullsands camping - we like it here
We thrive on campsites here in Rullsand. The atmosphere here is calm and pleasant, the surroundings are green and beautiful and you are very close to the beach. We usually go here sometimes just to relax, read books and eat good food.
This time we went here to enjoy a quiet and nice midsummer weekend. We actually think that there will be some kind of celebration organised here at the campsite, but for our part we are more here to enjoy the peace and quiet than the celebration.
If you walk a short distance along the beach you come to a small bar/restaurant where there are sometimes performances. We have gone there on some occasions before and had a beer and listened to some musician. Sometimes it can be nice when you want a little break in the calm!
Fine sandy beach
One of the best things about Rullsand is the long, beautiful beach. We have sunbathed and bathed here several times before, just because of the nice beach. Now we have just gone for a walk on the beach and taken some photos.
On the beach in Rullsand you can really relax with sun and swimming, often without too many people around. Just below the campsite is an "ordinary" beach with fine soft sand, where most bathers go. If you instead walk away to the right, you come to a naturist beach instead.
Naturist beach in Rullsand
The naturist beach is very large and there is more nature than people. We have been here during two midsummer evenings after a lot of work and sunbathed and rested, with herring and nubbe completely in the open air. There is nothing wrong with the view!

Looked absolutely wonderful. Yes, the weather and everything!!!
You seem to have come to the RIGHT place!
I don't celebrate Midsummer at all. I'm still in the USA. It's not a holiday I care about or miss.
But I am very happy that you are doing well and that the weather is beautiful!
HAPPY MIDSUMMER!!!

Matts, it feels like abroad! It is incredibly hot, real summer heat! We were not prepared for it, so it was a surprise... Wishing you a nice holiday down in Europe!
Annika, yes we took a chance on a campsite, and it turned out great. Not least the weather! We don't have so many special traditions at midsummer, but some herring and so on. And then you are free! Wishes nice weekend regardless of whether it is celebrated midsummer or not!
