Boat trip in Halifax - a great day in Canada

Today was a wonderfully refreshing boat ride in Halifax. Yesterday we tested the nightlife here in the city, and today we have woken up to a new day with bright sunshine. Down in the harbour there are several boats that take tourists on tours, and we chose a sailboat for a boat trip in Halifax.

Boat trip in Halifax - A nice day on the lake

We booked a tour on a large classic sailing ship that is moored here in New York. Halifax harbour. We had looked at the ship for several days before we booked a tour. A very beautiful old ship! The ship is steered in the classic way and manpower is required to hoist and carry the sails, for example. This type of old ship is really fascinating and it is inspiring to see all these enthusiasts who know how to handle these ships!

We were just there as tourists and didn't have to help with the sails. Instead, we could sit in the sun on the deck, just take it easy and have a good time. It's around 30 degrees here, so being out on the water where the wind is blowing isn't bad at all. Fantastic to be on a trip like this! In one direction, we could look towards Halifax's tall building complexes that lick the sky. In the other direction we saw green and scenic islands.

Great crew

Everyone in the crew was wonderfully cheerful and offered themselves, which made this an extra nice trip. If you're ever in Halifax in the middle of summer, we highly recommend a sailing trip in an old sailing ship!

We had a lovely ride on the water, overlooking the city. Afterwards we had a lunch of freshly cooked mussels and a fantastic fish soup at our favourite Murphy's Restaurant. I think we will be eating seafood every day here, the selection is amazing!
