Now we have made it to Stogi campsite in Gdansk. We have been here before, but this time it was difficult to find because they are rebuilding the roads. In the end we got there anyway. This campsite is crowded but the service is good: almost all staff speak English, you get maps and there is a small restaurant/shop.

Camping Stogi
Camping Stogi is located at a good distance from Gdansk. At this campsites there are both grass pitches and some paved pitches. The paved pitches are mainly for motorhomes, and we were able to find a place here this time. The campsite is relatively simple, but it has everything you need, including a small shop, a simple restaurant and WiFi. The staff at the small reception are helpful and usually speak reasonable English.
Right next to the campsite is a long, sandy beach, which is excellent. On fine summer days, lots of Gdansk residents come here and park their cars everywhere for a day at the beach. But for campers, it's just a short walk away. Not far from the campsite you'll also find the tram that takes you into the city centre.
Wild boar on the campsite
All of a sudden, as we were sitting outside our camper vans at the campsite, a bunch of wild boars suddenly came bounding through the forest. They ran past just a few metres from our campsite, with a fence in between. When the first group came, I couldn't get my camera up, but then a lone straggler came along. Now we think we will stay away from forest walks ...
A day at the beach
Unfortunately, I had a migraine yesterday and stayed in the motorhome during the day and evening, but the others managed to visit both the beach and the nightlife at the beach. There are a lot of places that serve both food and beer and play music, and the atmosphere was apparently good. Sad for me to be sick of course, but I feel better today!
Market in Gdansk
Today we have visited Gdansk, by tram from the campsite. There is a big annual market going on in Gdansk right now, which we were going to walk around. Right when we entered the city, the rain started pouring down, so we almost gave up. But luckily it turned around, and we could stroll around for hours in the absolutely huge market.

Hope you are well again! Interesting to see the paving on the ground, seems well done and solid. With such a surface, you avoid muddy lawns you get stuck in, if it rained a lot. Keep up the good work!

Criss-cross, yes the paving is perhaps a little less cosy, but it is definitely practical. Many of the motorhomes only stay a few days to check out the city, so it's nice to avoid the hassle of mud...
