We had a magical dining experience yesterday at the Fish Market restaurant in Reykjavik. We had the most amazing meal in a restaurant that we've ever eaten. ever. If you ever visit Iceland must you should visit this restaurant. The focus is on seafood, preferably with an Asian touch, and we had an absolutely divine tapering menu.
Fish and Asian touch
Fish Market, or Fiskmarkaðurinn as the restaurant is called in Icelandic, a high-class restaurant in the Reykjavik run by Icelandic celebrity chef Hrefna Rósa Sætran. Despite her young age, Hrefna is a well-known chef in Iceland who has sometimes been described as "Iceland's answer to Jamie Oliver". You'll find the restaurant in a charming old yellow house in the centre of Reykjavik, at Adalstraeti 12.
The Fish Market restaurant focuses on seafood, and although the ingredients are local, there is often an Asian flavour to the dishes. All the ingredients are incredibly fresh and the flavour combinations are fantastic!
Fantastic tasting menu at the Fish Market

We were served nine absolutely magical dishes presented in detail by the waiter. We don't remember all the sauces and accompaniments, but the main ingredients of the dishes were whale meat, king crab, king prawns, spinach salad with mini chicken eggs, sushi, cod, salmon and lamb. Finally, we were served an amazing dessert, which actually consisted of four different desserts ...
