Last night we had an Indian cookery evening at a colleague's house. One colleague has taken an Indian cookery course and another has parents from India. Thirteen people in the kitchen and lots of Indian recipes were messy, but fun! A music video with Bollywood music added to the atmosphere!
Starter served in newspaper
What I learned about Indian cooking is that there are plenty of onions, garlic, chillies, cumin and coriander. The starter, which was served in newspaper, contained a mixture of tomato, onion, puffed rice, Indian snacks and nuts. Different, but delicious!
Main course and dessert
The main course was a chicken casserole, a bean casserole and a cheese casserole served with rice, nan bread, onion salad and chutney. Dessert was made from carrots cooked with milk and white chocolate and served with ice cream, mango and nuts. Good and very nice!

What a fun activity! I would have loved to be part of that!!! My father was born in India to Swedish parents. My grandmother and grandfather lived 7 years in India in the 1920s...

What fun to organise such an evening! Even if the food is usually good, it will certainly be extra good because of the changes.

Mmmm, love Indian food. But I can skip the desserts because they are usually very sweet. How did this one taste?

It's fun to cook dinner together, there are usually a lot of ingredients to be chopped and minced in Indian food, so it's good to have more people. I lived in Kashmir for 1.5 years and really like Indian food, yummy.

Chronicler, this dessert was really good! But they said that it was a little adjusted in the amount of sugar. Usually it is sweeter in India...
JoY, exciting! What did you do in Kashmir?

Indian food is so delicious! It is probably one of my favourite cuisines. It also suits a vegetarian very, very well 😉.
