Today we are presenting five different apple recipes here on the blog. My parents have apple trees in their garden and when we visited them we got a whole bunch. Apples are best cooked and we're not big fans of baking, so it's time to use apples in our cooking!
We've been experimenting a bit this week and are sharing some great apple recipes here! But the apples in the bowl are not over yet... do you have any good apple recipes to share?

Salad with apple
A little fruit adds freshness to the salad. Mix as you like! We mixed mache salad, leeks, peppers, tomato and apple - it was great with chicken skewers and rice!
Starter with apple, chèvre and walnuts
Pre-warm apple slices for 20 seconds in boiling water and drizzle with a marinade of oil, a little apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper. Serve with dry-roasted walnuts and chèvre (Recipe idea from Coops). FlavourPerhaps this is the favourite of our apple recipes!
Vanilla ice cream with hot apple sauce
Boil the apple pieces for about 3 minutes together with water (about 2 dl) and some sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the potato flour solution (a teaspoon of potato flour stirred into a little cold water). Bring back to the boil and serve the hot sauce with vanilla ice cream. (Recipe idea from Touchline)
Salmon gratin with apples and leeks
Cut the salmon into small cubes and add the sliced leeks and diced apples. In a small bowl, mix 2.5 dl of sour cream with 2 tsp of French mustard and pour over. Cook in the oven for about 15 minutes or until the gratin has a lovely colour. (Recipe idea from Arla)
Apple chutney
Dice 1 kg of apples and mix with an onion, 2 tbsp fresh ginger, 5 dl sugar, 2 dl apple cider vinegar, 2 dl raisins, curry, cinnamon and salt. Cook in a pan until the fruit has softened. Serve with cheese, chicken or grilled meat. (Recipe idea from our motorhome mate Ann)

I rarely eat apples and have never tried them in a salad. Maybe a simple pie could be an alternative?

Apples in salads are delicious. It slips down here every now and then. Otherwise, I have a simple but delicious apple cake if you get the urge 😉.
