More and more Swedes are choosing to go winter camping on their ski trips, according to a press release from the Swedish Camping and Cottages Association (SCR). Nearly 170 campsites are open all year round, and about 100 are located at alpine resorts.
Winter camping may be an option
Winter camping can be an affordable alternative to expensive ski holidays. Many people park their caravans all season, but there are also drop-in sites for those who are more spontaneous, or who may want to move around depending on snow availability.
Most winter visitors live in caravans but the share of motorhomes continues to grow. Are you planning to go winter camping or have you done so before?

No, we do not winter camp. Since we have a cottage in the Sälen mountains we "have" to look after it sometimes 😉 Have a good Sunday

Winter camping can have its attractions if you ski. The sushi looks good must be fun to make it yourself. From found raw goods.

We have winter camped many times, here at home in Sweden we were most of the time in Tandådalen at the Caravan Club's great campsite right next to the lifts. Abroad we have winter camped in Oberstdorf and Garmisch Partenkirchen, it was also an experience close to the lifts at both sites. We have also winter camped in Zell am Zee, there was a bus outside the campsite that went past the lifts.

Cross my heart, I understand! You don't have to bring the camper if you have a cottage!
🙂
Nils & Birgitta, yes, it's all connected... We like skiing, but it's not often that we prioritise that type of holiday because we might like other types of travel even more. But we have considered winter camping at some point...
Anders and Birgitta, cool to bring the camper and also winter camping abroad!
🙂
