If you have a physical job, like Peter, you don't have to think much about moving during the day. But if, like me, you're stuck in front of a computer from 8am to 5pm, you have to make a bit of an effort not to get stuck in your desk chair. Here are our tricks for "stealth exercise"!
Tricks for stealth exercise
We do exercise in the evenings, but for me it's still many hours in front of a computer every day. Now I have found two ways to "sneak" exercise without taking any extra time. The first is to walk to a bus station that is a little further away. The second is to take the stairs instead of the lift at work. Do you also have any 'sneaky exercise tricks'?
JoY says:
Instead of taking the bus to work, when I finish or start in the afternoon, I walk the 4km. Soon I can start walking even when I start at 7am, because it's already light now.

Some of them are so good that you almost just snap out of it. I think you should be happy that you have such a good ambition. It is also the case that it does good in the long term. Still have of all the exercise you put in earlier in life. It always pays off. Well done! 3 M

Lots of other stuff and some concrete says:
So glad you wrote a comment so I found my way here!
The first thing I see is the green house where we lived! And we are thinking of buying a campervan so we have to look closely!
My stealth exercise consists of walking instead of taking the escalator and going up five flights of stairs at work.

Get a dog. You have to go out 5 - 7 times a day. One of these times is a walk of up to an hour, every day, rain or shine. Very effective!

JoY, smart! And yes, it does make things easier when the light is on, in several ways!
Seniors Speculate, yes, but that's how it is! Everything pays off, not least the little things you do every day. How you have lived earlier in life also plays a role, of course!
Ulla & Torgny, yes, but how? Takes no extra time either (our lifts are super slow and they have to stop lots of times on the way...).
Lots of other things and a bit of concrete, but what fun! What a funny coincidence that you lived in that house! And we recommend a motorhome, of course! And another one that takes the stairs!
🙂
Oldmolly, yes I can imagine! Hard to get away when you have a dog that needs to get out....

Yes, 'stealth exercise' is a good method!
I do most of my shopping with a backpack or bike, sometimes with a bike trailer!
Then you get exercise in return!
Last autumn I changed a gas cylinder, PC 10.
The guy asked - Where is your car?
-I said and pointed to the bike!
He looked like a question mark!
No problem taking a LPG bottle on the carrier with straps around it!
Live well!

When we moved back to the city, I decided that the car will have to stand most of the time and got myself a bike bag á lá multifunction that, among other things, loads 50 kg and it is my everyday exercise in wet and dry 🙂.

Lennart, cycling is good exercise! But I understand that he looked a little surprised just when it was LPG that was purchased ...
😉
Frankie & Co, what a clever little thing!

Having a dog is definitely a good and enjoyable way to get daily exercise. Our little Cavalier, 15 months old on Sunday, has definitely had a positive impact on my fitness and waistline.

For me, it's not just stealth exercise. I walk often and quite far and like to take stairs instead of the lift. I live "only" six steps up at home.
Here in the heat I will swim 25 lengths every day and maybe increase it. (One length is about 22m)
The heat puts an end to the long walks, but on the other hand, the food is "lighter". Well, not the beer of course ...

Frankie & Co says:
Yes, it has worked to transport both the beer crate and the toilet tank (without the bag on).

Lars, yes, having a dog can have many different advantages! I love animals, but we have chosen not to have any because we travel so much (and not only with the motorhome, where you might be able to take the animals with you).
Ditte, six stairs is not so "just"... We had a small ambition that we would exercise when we were in Malaysia, but we found it difficult in the heat... We saw some people jogging, but it just felt hysterical in the heat... Swimming is perhaps the best then!
😉
Frankie & Co, great!

I also have a mobile job, both my regular job as a teacher in a preschool class and then in the evening as a swimming coach, so there is no sneak training other than that I sometimes think a little extra about whether I really need to take the car the few kilometres to work and shop.

Agneta, if you already have a mobile job, you get that everyday exercise automatically! I definitely understand that you get that as a teacher and swimming coach! The same for many who work in healthcare and many other jobs. But we who mostly sit on a desk chair, we need to think about it a bit ...
