What about the painting of the apartment? We worked really hard all weekend, but now we're done! Every wall and every ceiling - everything is white. Yesterday the estate agent and the photographer were here and took new pictures. Now we'll see if this more neutral look goes down better with the buyers ...

Details from our white home
We have painted walls, stucco, ceiling and windows. We have also washed curtains and bedspreads, polished crystal lamps and replaced yellowed candles with new white ones ... There are still some details left, but the apartment is soon ready for viewing. Now it has become "bright and fresh" as the broker wants! Here you can see some details.
If you are wondering, we can tell you that it is Peter who put up all the stucco and mouldings. The chairs we inherited from my grandmother and the mirrors we bought at auction. Do you want to see what the apartment looked like before we repainted?
The kitchen and dining room
In the kitchen we used to have large so-called "mirrors" covered with beautiful dark blue fabric. Now we have torn these down and made these parts of the walls white and smooth. We have also changed from dark blue curtains to white curtains with light-coloured borders.
Living room
In the living room we had a stunning lion yellow ceiling with gold coloured stucco, and equally lion yellow walls. We loved it, but we understand that it may not be a taste that suits everyone. Now both walls and ceiling are white. The stucco on the ceiling is still there, and the walls have been levelled.
The bedroom
The bedroom was also previously in a yellow colour. We kept the yellow curtains and the gold-coloured mirrors, but the walls are now white.
Billie's room
In Billie's room, Peter had painted the walls as if they were marbled stones. Fantastic! Painting over was a bit sad, but I'm sure this will suit more people. Now the walls are white, with large simple mirrors.

won't be able to complain about the brightness now anyway 😉.

Oh please, tell me where you bought the mouldings!!! I must have too, soon!

Agneta, no buts, right?
😉
Inga Magnusson, a few different places... We've bought skirting boards in normal DIY stores, like Bauhaus. But Peter has doubled or tripled them according to his own imagination... We have ordered stucco from stucco factories, via catalogues in paint shops.
Frankie & Co, thank you!

How nice it turned out...... but nicer?
Nicely done....

Henny says:
I don't know if I think it was so nice with everything in white, it looks sloppy in some way. But now it is neither me nor you who will live and decorate there.
Good luck with the sale, fingers crossed 🙂 .

Ulla & Torgny, well we don't really know if we think so... or no, we don't think so.
Henny, we're not too keen on white either... so we hope the estate agent is right...
JoY, we can use that! Thank you very much!

But wow - I've read up and see how insanely much work you have put into the apartment. Hope you get what you want and can find something else that you enjoy.
Long journey? Where - when - how??? 😉 Good luck!

Lena & Jan, aren't the stuccoes beautiful?
Veiken, yes puh... it was a lot of work! Next summer we intend to travel down in Europe with the camper... maybe a year or so, we'll see...

My mum sold her flat yesterday and it's all about minimalism and simplicity. I like white and use colour in my furniture.
Hope it goes well!

Seniors Speculate says:
We think it turned out fine after all, even if it gets a bit boring in the long run. A bit of colouring is needed. But you have a lot of beautiful things that do the job. But I can't believe that estate agents are so unimaginative. Maybe they're bad salesmen. Good luck with the sale. 3 M

Znogge, yes, we have realised that this is the case... and not a gadget in front...
😉
Seniors Speculate, nice that you think it turned out well! We also think it turned out well, even though we liked it better with colour... Me, a bit unimaginative that everything has to be the same....

Tess says:
Impressive job he did! I didn't even know it was possible to 'fake' stucco and such.
15 March 2013 - 0:10
admin says:
Tess, it's not "fake" just because it's not old, but I'm guessing you mean just that, that it's not from the time they used to do this kind of thing. Most of the mouldings are bought, but some (on the walls in the living room) we have actually cast ourselves in moulds.
