What kind of kitchen equipment should you have in your motorhome? You use pretty much the same equipment as at home, but for reasons of space it can be good to limit yourself a little. Since it can rattle and make noise when driving, it's also good if the equipment doesn't make too much noise, or if you can organise "silent" storage.

Porcelain/Melamine
Porcelain or melamine? Whilst it is of course possible to have crockery in the motorhome, we (and many others) prefer melamine as it weighs less, rattles less and is less likely to break. We have a four-person set of plates, platters and deep plates. We are currently looking for a new set, as the one we have is both discoloured and scratched. In addition to plates, we would like to have matching bowls in different sizes.
Kitchen utensils
You need more or less the same kitchen utensils in the motorhome as at home. We have cutlery, knives, whisk, ladle, spatula, scissors, cheese slicer, garlic press, can opener and corkscrew. We also have crab sticks, because we like to eat crabs. eat whole crab.
Some things have been excluded due to lack of space. For example, we realised that it is not completely necessary to have an egg slicer ... Right now we have bought a grater. We've been missing one for a long time, and we chose a flat one so that it wouldn't take up too much space.
Storage
Motorhome storage is a bit different from home storage. In the motorhome, we focus on tidiness and order, as space is limited. We also want to minimise noise and rattle when driving. We have therefore chosen to furnish the cabinets with several different drawers, preferably covered with fabric. To reduce the noise in the pot cabinets, we put towels between the pots and pans.
Practical solutions in the kitchen
Over time, we have come up with various practical solutions in the kitchen. We have put up hooks for potholders and a paper towel holder. We don't think you should be too worried about putting a screw in the motorhome if it's for something practical - it's quite likely that a subsequent owner will also want a paper towel holder. There are also hooks and the like that you can stick on.
The very best solution we made is that we made space under the waste lid (behind the sink) for a large rubbish bag. We simply sawed off the bottom of the small bucket that was there, so we could attach a large black plastic bag. Extremely practical!
Increase the cosiness factor in the motorhome kitchen!
Update: Since we wrote this post, we have opened an online shop, where you can find a lot of products for the RV kitchen. Check out our campervan-themed tea towels, potholders, dishcloths and trivets! Where to find the shop.

Check it out! http://www.ghcampingshop.se/ The shop is located in Ulricehamn and usually participates in the Elmia caravan/motorhome fair.
Personally, we use disposable plates on top of a melamine plate to save on washing up.

Kurts in Ludvika has a large assortment of gadgets so that it
we can recommend a visit.
Otherwise, there are several online shops.
Kama fritid also sells through its website and retailers.
Hope you find something that fits.
Take care......

Maggan and Ingemar, thanks for the tips! I will check out that page!
🙂
Rolle and Carina, thanks for the tips! We'll see how it turns out with Ludvika (sounds interesting, but I don't know if we will have the roads past in that direction), but I can at least start with a visit to the Kama leisure website!

Kama is recommended, although they are quite expensive. We bought a melamine tablecloth there in 2002 and still have it - a few scratches but nothing to worry about. It will be around for a few more seasons 🙂.

Yes, I can imagine that it must be small and convenient in the kitchen of the motorhome. When we travelled around Australia, I still had my old plastic coat from the scouts (my mum dug it up at home in the storage room, I remember), but unfortunately it got lost in some kitchen at a hostel along the way. But it served its purpose during a very long journey with soup, coffee and wine! On second thought, I think it was the same box I had with me on the Trans-Siberian railway in 2005. Too bad that such a famous "kitchen item" should get away like that! =)

Siddubarra which is an Ålandic expression 🙂 .
Similar to what we have also for the reason that it should take up as little space as possible and be fairly light.
Melanin tableware yes - we bought one at the fair in Kista last year, the camping fair that is. But regret in retrospect that we did not buy a double set - now we only have four plates, plates, etc ... but maybe another time 🙂

Across the board, thanks for the tips! I have started looking at Kama and they seem to have a lot.
Emmy, haha that was a great kitchen item! Our kitchen gadgets have mostly been around Europe ...
😉
Anders and Birgtta, the Internet is not bad, you really wonder how you managed before...?
😉
Ninni, yes, I have also thought about the number, but it almost feels like you want six plates anyway....
Veiken, haha... yes, that's one way to look at it.

PrisXtra on Norra Stationsgatan has really sunny dishes, as does Cervera.
Personally, though, I don't see the difference between plastic and melamine - ooooops;-)

Deciree, good tip with fritidstillbehör.se, I will also check there! Yes, it's fun with a little new!
Beate, thanks for the tips! We actually looked at Cervera the other day, but the colours were a bit too strong for me to want it in the camper....
