When we Swedes go on a car holiday in Europe, we want to experience the most authentic places of the destination. We want to eat at local restaurants and swim on the same beaches as the locals. This is according to a new survey conducted by Netigate on behalf of TT-Line.
Here's what Swedes want to experience on their car holiday
As many as 81 per cent believe that they have not experienced the "real destination" if they have only visited classic tourist attractions and sights. It's almost as if I can agree - the advantage of car holidays is precisely the freedom and the ability to find the unexpected little gems! When asked what you prefer to experience during your car holiday, the Swedes, according to the survey, answer as follows:
- The local gems (59 %)
- Nature (44 %)
- Good shopping (24 %)

Just right for our taste!
In 2011, we spent four days travelling in the countryside of the former Yugoslavia.
We did not see a single tourist!
People in the villages stood up when we arrived, they had never seen a camper van!
One of our great memories!
Live well!

Lennart, what a great memory! It sounds like a wonderful and exciting trip. The motorhome allows you to have these experiences! When you're flying, it's easy to end up in a tourist town, and then you're stuck there....

Just wanted to tell you that you are "featured" in the latest PRO magazine, No. 3. One of the articles is about living life in a motorhome.
In a fact box on useful links, you are in first place when it comes to tips on what others are doing. How nice 🙂

Henny, no but what fun! And thank you for telling us! (And yes, there is something strange about smileys on the blog. They always end up first on the line, no matter where you write them. Unfortunately, I don't know how to change that...)
