Now we have arrived at Gamleby camping, not far from Västervik. The campsite is large and seems well maintained, but right now it is quite deserted here. We have found a place high up with a lovely view of the water.
Gamleby camping by the Baltic Sea
Gamleby camping, or KustCamp Gamelby, is a family campsite located deep in a bay in the Baltic Sea. This is a campsite surrounded by beautiful green nature and during the high season there are all the services you need, including a manned reception and a small restaurant. Right now, however, it feels rather deserted here. A few caravans are parked, but there don't seem to be many people at home. The staff won't arrive until tonight.
In summer, of course, you can swim here, and according to the campsite's website, the water will be at lake temperatures, and there are diving towers for playing in the water. You can also hire boats, or perhaps the wood-fired family sauna down by the water. However, we are not looking for any of this ... We just want a quiet camping weekend in a beautiful environment! We have parked the motorhome in a spot where we have a lovely view of the water.

Nice place by the water
We have found a fantastic spot overlooking the water. A little more sun wouldn't hurt, but it feels luxurious anyway! We have spent the afternoon relaxing, enjoying nature and reading. Now we have just started the grill to prepare dinner. Tomorrow we plan to go out for a jog, and then we will probably move on to a new campsite. Wishing you a nice weekend!

Have you visited Gamleby Camping? How was your experience? Do you have any other tips for things to see and do in the area?

What a nice place to park! I also hope that the weather will be good. But even without it, you will have a nice weekend.
Here in Stockholm it has been real summer heat today, very nice. And we have worked hard on the boat.... Hoping for a launch next week.
It is exciting to read about what else is happening with you and Freedom.

Ditte, I think we went in the wrong direction weather-wise... But it's very nice here so it's not so bad anyway!

Frankie & Co, very nice here! Hope you also have a nice trip soon!

BP, hehe... it's important! We actually opted out of a campsite on the way here because others wrote that there was no coverage...

And now I saw that you have been in my home town Gamleby on camping when I started to check your page about Sweden! Was certainly a while ago. //Sara
