Women and men do not buy the same things on car holidays. This is according to the 2013 Car Holiday Report from Stena Line. The top three items on women's and men's shopping lists are completely different.
How women and men shop
The women shop for 1) clothes and fashion, 2) souvenirs and 3) food and delicacies. And the men? Well, they shop for 1) spirits, 2) wine and 3) beer. This is according to the 2013 Car Holiday Report from Stena Line. Well, how about this? Do you recognise this? What do you and your family usually buy on holiday?
Carina Olsson says:
Harkel harkel, I might even recognise it very well 😉.

Carina, haha, and wow how many boxes of wine you can fit in a motorhome! Peter was a little worried about overweight so he said I would have to take the plane if we were stopped... he did not intend to unload the wine bottles....
😉

That's probably true, at least to a certain extent. Bye! Elisabeth

BP says:
No, I don't really recognise myself in that statistic. I probably also bunker alcohol, mostly because it is so very expensive to buy alcohol in Sweden.
Like your "wine collection" :-)))))

JoY says:
When was in Italy with "our" wine farmer, it looked like that even in our car hahaha

Ditte says:
I can understand buying wine if you are travelling and have a car/caravan with you. When travelling by plane, the occasional bottle of strong drink might slip in.
I am happy to shop for local food, but I don't shop for the sake of shopping.
And souvenirs.... Doesn't seem that important ....But if you don't travel very often, maybe shopping is more important.

Ninni, Henrik and the Hjulius motorhome says:
I can probably imagine that this is true in general, although not for us perhaps as we drink quite a bit of alcohol. A glass of wine now and then, a glass of bubbly or a beer is probably the wife in the cottage but the old man in the old man does not drink alcohol so for us it is probably more edible that is on the shopping list.

BP, well we didn't have to go to the System for quite some time...
😉
JoY, haha, nice to hear that it can look like this in more cars!
🙂
Ditte, just when we are in Italy with the camper van, we buy a lot of wine! At airports and such, we don't buy much anymore, maybe a bottle of whisky. Souvenirs are not really our thing either ...
Ninni, you won't have to carry these heavy boxes!
🙂

I am a teetotaller so I never buy alcohol.

Katarina, so good to hear that we are not alone.
😉
Henrik, no, that's not true for you at all! So what are you shopping for?
🙂

Across the board says:
Ugh how familiar that looked ..... Souvenirs and other "gadgets" are not purchased by any of us, but a wall almanac for next year, with beautiful nature pictures from any of the countries we visit. 🙂

Inga Magnusson says:
Well, there is something in this description! Embarrassing but true. Here, the husband is probably responsible for most of the alcohol purchases, although I'm pretty bad at shopping. However, we both buy food and delicacies of course.

Synne says:
That's us in a nutshell... Well, I buy things for the kids too! The husband maybe some ice cream sometimes too 🙂

Criss-cross, apparently we're not the only ones shopping, we've realised... Pictures from places you've been are always nice! I made my own wall almanac once, on some website, with pictures from our travels.
Inga Magnusson, there seems to be something in the answers from that survey...
😉
Synne, gifts for children could really have been a separate category!
