This year, eleven Swedish campsites have been awarded five stars in the official SCR classification, according to a press release. "Campsites with five stars have everything you can imagine in terms of size, service and offerings and are modern tourist facilities," says Lars Isacson, CEO of SCR.
5-star campsites in Sweden
Many times we think that much simpler campsites are enough, but sometimes it can be interesting to experience these nice and luxurious campsites that have everything. Here are Sweden's 5-star campsites:
- Byske Havsbad, Skellefteå
- Pite Havsbad, Piteå
- Lysingsbadet, Västervik
- Sonjas camping in Löttorp, Öland
- KronoCamping Böda Sand, Öland, Sweden
- Kneippbyn leisure centre, Visby, Sweden
- Apelvikens camping, Varberg
- Daftö Holiday Centre, Strömstad
- KronoCamping, Lidköping
- Sommarvik camping, Årjäng
- Gustavsvik, Örebro
Inga Magnusson says:
Proudly states that Sommarviks Camping in Årjäng is included as always. It is a nice campsite with everything you could wish for. But it has been crowded. When my brother was there with his campervan, he reacted that it was too close between the vehicles. There should be a certain distance, I think, for fire protection.
But we have a great wilderness campsite here called Camp ´Grinsby. There is plenty of room for everyone and a nice facility with a large beach and many other possibilities.

How come I'm not surprised that neither Bredng nor Rösjö camping is on that top list. On the other hand, I don't camp like that...;-)

Of course Piteå Havsbad has 5 stars. We who live here do not camp there. It is too big for us;-) but if you want to see something, you camp there:-))

Anders and Birgitta says:
Yes, these campsites are nice, but they cannot be compared with campsites of the same class abroad.

Inga Magnusson, thanks for the tips!
BP, on the other hand, quite a few campsites in Sweden have five stars. Most are much simpler, without having to be bad for it.
Deciree, it was cold when we were there, but very nice. We tried the artificial sun terrace too...
😉
Anders and Birgitta, no, Sweden is probably ahead of the game...

Seniors Speculate, 3 M says:
Usually these campsites are so huge and have so many "extras" that you would never use at all, but still have to pay for. Heard something about some of these campsites costing over SEK 400 per night. Should that be necessary when you have everything you need in a motorhome. No, thank you. 3 M

3M, often we don't think it's worth it either. But sometimes it can be fun. We were at Lysingsbadet this spring, and it was very nice! Some of what is "extra" may in fact in some cases be more worthwhile when travelling with children.
