Now we have arrived on Öland and Löttorp's campsite! We took the bridge from Kalmar and then drove up to Löttorp, just south of Böda. We had booked a place at Löttorp's campsite because according to the website there would be everything possible here: several restaurants, pool with large water slide, adventure golf with wildlife theme, artists and specially built terraces against which you can dock your motorhome. But the reality turned out to be different ...
Löttorp campsite promises too much
Löttorp's campsite has new owners and the description on the the website may be in line with what they want to achieve in the future. Unfortunately, it bears little resemblance to what exists today. The pool for the water slide is a small plastic pool for small children, the adventure golf course won't be ready until next summer and they haven't even started building the caravan terraces yet.
Unfortunately, we have to say that we are disappointed - it does not feel ok to market an offer that will not be available until next summer. The campsite has four stars and they write that they are "working to reach their fifth star". It is very possible that they will get there in the future, but right now we just feel cheated. Tomorrow we will move and look for a new place.
Game night at the campsite
You have to make the best of the situation! In the evening we cooked a good dinner and then it was game night with Peter's son Billie and his girlfriend Danielle. But that's about as much fun as it gets at this campsite, so we're moving on!
BP says:
False advertising at its best - or worst. Incredibly bad of the campsite. Would ask for a discount for the nights you are there.
I understand your disappointment - it's just so bad!

Lars Permeln says:
Really sad when the reality does not match what is written on the website. It is good if the campsite finds out that you are dissatisfied.

June says:
What a shame that they write more on the website than they can offer!

Matts Torebring says:
For 26 years you were there at Löttorps Camping, with car and caravan, ranging from a few weeks in the beginning to a whole summer for the last ten years. We tried to get the children to go to other places, but were told, then you have to go yourself. I still don't understand how it happened, being there for so long. Today I rarely go down and even look.
Do not miss Lammet & Grisen at Löttorp, it is a must for me every summer since 1973. If you go further north, you have one of Sweden's best beaches in Lyckesand, the exit after Böda Camping. There is also "textile-free" a paragraph to the left if you like this. Have a good time & Hugs.

Hey, hey, hey, hey.
Saw you go past Algutsrum during today, I think it was you.
Have a good Öland holiday despite the setbacks with the camping.

JoY says:
Not fun to be met by such camping when you were looking forward to 4 star! But you have the wheels to roll, so you are right to move. Good luck with the next place, enjoy your holiday.

I can understand your disappointment. Then it is good to have a motorhome and be able to drive on. Have the good continuation! Elisabeth

What a shame! But I hope you find something else tomorrow. Restaurant Lammet och grisen I think may be worth a visit, wherever you decide to stay. I know that there have been good campsites in the vicinity of Köpingsvik, but how it is today, I do not know.
Fingers crossed that you find something good.

Emmy in Australia says:
Sad that they market themselves so crazy, better to be honest and put price and marketing in relation to what is actually available! But but, is convinced that you will find another nice place pretty quickly!

BP, yes you feel cheated... better to be honest!
Lars Permeln, yes it is ok with simpler campsites too - but then that is what should be on the website. As it is now, you will be disappointed ...
Matts, oh have you been here all years? There is nothing wrong with the campsite itself, what feels wrong is that the information on the website does not match what is found here. Just this time we were looking for some things that were on the website - and then we were disappointed. Children often like to come back to the same places, especially if they have friends! By the way, thanks for the tip about the Lamb and the Pig, we have checked it out and are a little hungry!
Anders and Anna, oh are you in Böda? We called both yesterday and today in the morning, but unfortunately, it is packed. Otherwise we would have liked to come there!
Häkan Nyquist, it could certainly have been us! We went by there today! Shout if we should meet somewhere!
🙂
JoY, the best thing about a motorhome is that you can move!
Elisabeth, can only agree - that's the advantage of the motorhome!
Ditte, thanks for the tip about the Lamb and the Pig! We have now received that tip twice and have checked out their site - seems interesting!
Emmy in Australia, well you are disappointed because they marketed themselves as something more than what they are...

So sad that they were barely close to what they advertised online. You're doing the right thing, moving on!
