A total of 74% of women say they are more active than their partner when planning their holiday, according to a Skyscanner press release.
"She likes to plan better"
Men's explanations for not participating in holiday planning are 'she is better at planning and finding deals' (33%), 'she likes planning better' (20%), 'she is more picky' (19%) and 'I am too lazy' (10%).
A total of 62% of men, on the other hand, believe that they are the ones who decide which car to rent on holiday... What about gender roles in holiday planning? Do you recognise this? I think we are both quite involved in the planning ...

Frankie & Co says:
Yes, I probably recognise this, but we try to break and when planning is to be done, we take turns, it becomes a bit of a surprise for the other party who does not plan as usual, fun in itself 🙂 .

BP says:
Hrrrrmmmm.... Put it this way: we plan the holiday together. Book it and shake out the tickets I do. As far as car hire is concerned, I'm the one who decides, because I'm the driver, the husband is the navigator, as I have no sense of direction.
Satisfied? 😉

Ninni, Henrik and the Hjulius motorhome says:
Hmm yes good question. I think we both participate with our parts. I am probably more the one who looks for prices on any hotels or overnight stays if it is the case that we do not go the motorhome. Then I am more the one who looks for sights, activities, etc. While the husband keeps track of roads, possible car tolls, boat bookings and costs on such things and it is always he who drives the motorhome as I do not have a truck licence. So in the end, I think we do pretty much the same but different things. Of course, you plan and talk together and ask what the other thinks 🙂

With us, it is probably actually Kjell who is more active. He is sometimes so fast that I can't keep up:-)) I go along with everything:) He plans more and I want to take the day as it comes:-) Nevertheless, we have come together:-) haha. Hugs

We plan together too. But Anders usually demands to choose the hotel, when I choose, it tends to be a bit too expensive....
😉
But I get to participate in the decision before it is booked anyway. Then he knows my requirements - such as that wifi must be available.

Frankie & Co, it's good to break patterns sometimes - then maybe something new happens!
🙂
BP, super happy! I can hear who's in control!
😉
Ninni, many times it is natural to do different parts, and there is nothing wrong with that as long as you help each other!
Deciree, it's great to have someone who breaks the mould! Maybe it will be a perfect mix of planning and taking it as it comes. I actually often think that mix is the best!
Ama de casa, I recognise that! Wifi I check for type first of all!

Seniors Speculate, 3 M says:
We think such an important issue should be discussed and decided together. You also have to travel and do things together and then both have to enjoy themselves. Of course, when the kids lived at home, we often adapted our holidays so that there would be something fun for them too. But we played golf for many years, the whole family, so there were many golf holidays both with and without children before. Around the world. But you have to share that interest or it won't work. Have a good time. 3 M

3M, agree! And yes, when it comes to such a specific hobby, it will be difficult if you don't share the interest!
