We are gradually replacing all the lighting in the houseboat with LEDs. Electricity will be one of the major costs here, especially when the cold weather arrives. At least being able to light up the boat without having to worry about power consumption feels good. The LED lights are expensive to buy, but it feels like it will pay off in the long run.
LED lights save energy
So far, Peter has got lights up on the ceiling in our walk-in closet. I'm painting along the sides of the lower deck, and soon there will be new lights there too.
We are used to LED lights, as we have installed quite a few in the motorhome. There, it's almost even more important to be able to keep power consumption down and save energy. Here you can see some of the the lighting inside the motorhome and here you see exterior lighting. Do you use LED lights?
BP says:
Yes! I/we are totally "LEDed", or almost at least. We have some regular single-element bulbs and halogen variants as well.

At least I have LED lights in the shower, I am just as childishly delighted every time I get the colour red. 🙂
