The kitchen was the room in the entire houseboat that was most prepared and most modern when we moved here. Many parts of the boat are original from the 1930s, but the kitchen was recently renovated. The previous owner had also chosen nice colours and nice appliances, we think.
New ideas
You can see one of the agent's pictures of the kitchen below. We have always thought that we should keep the kitchen as it is, but liiite we have to do it again. Among other things, we are thinking of tiling the wall above the sink (that metal disc is very scratched), fixing new lighting and putting up a background wallpaper behind the dining table.
Wallpaper
I used to think wallpaper was boring. I think I associated it with the awful orange and brown patterns of the 80s, which were often matched by an even grumpier carpet. But nowadays, there are so many beautiful and delicious wallpaper!
We've been browsing the shops and it's really inspiring. There's everything from simple, clean patterns to all sorts of spectacular designs. We're thinking of something in black and silver, to match all the black details and stainless steel in the kitchen. You'll see soon enough! What do you think about wallpaper? Do you have wallpaper at home, or mostly white walls?

I really like the kitchen, I must say.
Wallpaper well... can I say that we have painted over ours. We are not at all handy as you know so putting up wallpaper with patterns would never work...

Absolutely believe in Black & Silver 🙂
Here it is mostly light & only a little patterned in the bedroom & kitchen - but it will be changed 😉.

We have background wallpaper in our two bedrooms, white on the other walls in one room and grey-purple on the other walls in our daughter's room. We have painted the hallway, but mostly because it was very ugly green before and we wanted to do a quick renovation. But I like wallpaper, maybe not very patterned wallpaper on all the walls in a room ... but there are many nice wallpapers. However, it will be quite a bit more expensive to wallpaper an entire room than to paint... so you have to be more sure of your choice regarding wallpaper than colour! 😀

We only have white at home. But I can imagine a wallpaper in the bedroom. Even if it's nice as it is, it can be fun to put your own stamp on the house/boat/apartment where you live. DRt is so fun to see how you reason. Big praise to you for all the work you put in and it looks great.

Rolle and Carina, understand that you are enjoying the motorhome!
🙂
BP, glad you like the kitchen! We do too, but Peter has a hard time ever thinking it's really good. He wants to do a little bit differently anyway...
😉
Alexandra, you're probably right that wallpaper is more expensive. But if you only have a background wall, the surface area is not as large.
Ditte, yes, it's fun to put your own stamp on things. Then again, Peter rarely thinks that something is done well enough...

Lots of other stuff and some concrete says:
The kitchen is bright and beautiful, but it's fun to change it up a bit to your own liking. A patterned wallpaper will certainly look good. We only have panelling in our house. It was like that when we moved in and we've only painted it. I haven't missed wallpaper yet, but there are many nice ones.
Hope you get the heat sorted out. Here we slept with hats in the beginning while we renovated the house.
Take care!

Much else and some concrete, thanks for your comment! It was actually kind of nice to hear that there are others who have had periods without working heat! The heating is not yet running, but the plumber will (hopefully) come with the new appliance on Friday. Then we will bring the electrician here at the same time.
