We've been working in the boiler room every night, and now our (extra) wardrobe is almost complete! On the right side we have built shoe shelves, and on the left side we have built shelves with drawers from Granit. We now store everything from tablecloths and fur hats to workout gear and jewellery.
Nice to be able to unpack
Next to the door on the left side, we also have hangers for long clothes, such as coats and dresses. Nice to finally be able to unpack the last moving box! You can see what the boiler room looked like before here.
Frankie & Co says:
Oh how nice and fresh!!! Nice overview and still airy, great!
Just one thing....where are raised mouldings around the shelves so that things don't slide off in the wave of blue... 😉.

Frankie & Co, glad you like it! We don't actually have those raised mouldings anywhere, not in the kitchen either. It doesn't seem to be needed, and doesn't seem like anyone has in the houseboats here. If Simone had come, it might have been a different matter... but it seems to happen so rarely....

Frode says:
On board a boat, I imagined rubber boots and fishing gear, rather than a whole row of fancy shoes. But the fishing equipment is probably in the nice white round boxes. 😉
But what an incredible transformation of the boat it has become! You guys are super talented!
🙂

Mr Steve says:
Smart use of dead space. It's also fun to visit the boiler room.

admin says:
Frode, thank you! I understand your point, but since this boat is also a house (!), we have to have a bit more than boat stuff. But we have fishing equipment too
😉
Steve, it's definitely more pleasant to go in there now!
🙂

Ditte says:
Very nice and very practical. In a boat, you want to maximise the use of all spaces. You have really got good storage. I would need extra shelves for shoe storage.
What a job you have done! Impressive!

BP says:

SO clever, and so stylish.
Dang how many shoes you HAVE!!!!

Alexandra says:
Is it you or Peter who likes high heels? 😉 No, just kidding!
How nice it turned out! That's more storage than you can fit in many other homes! But then of course you have to be as smart as you and come up with such clever solutions! 🙂

BP, the very bottom shelf is actually Peter's shoes...
😉
Annika, oh yes, there have been a few...
😉
Rolle and Carina, we usually call it "Crawl-in-closet" because you can't stand up straight in there...
😉

Across the board says:
Haha crawl-in closet - so appropriate!
en: The Mexican food at that time (21 years ago...) was different. More spicy, and if I remember correctly, a bit more "rich" with more cheese, some kind of brown beans and mixtures. And corn bread of course. I don't know how I would experience the food today, but then I thought everything I ate was delicious 😉.

Ulla & Torgny says:
I tell you, how nice it turned out..nice with drawers white and round....... like so much else in the boat that you restore.........
Crawl-in-closet ...... I thought was appropriate.............
Hugs to you both, from a warm and sunny Thailand!

Criss-cross, that sounds good! I definitely associate spicy and beans with Mexican. I will return after tomorrow what we cook on our Mexican evening!

How nice and practical you got it! But it was not exactly sailing shoes, but it certainly works on your boat. Hugs, 3M

Marina says:
It was a very nice and practical solution! The advantage of not having so much space is that you have to make good use of what you have, and you seem to have succeeded in doing so!

It was very practical and also neat, uniform and equal. I'm taking the inspiration for better storage in our basement.

There are all the nice party shoes lined up I see 🙂 By the way, sure you would like the outdoor life in Dubai. It is trendy and always good DJ's and quite strict dress codes where you would get use of all your nice party outfits!
