Today we have been running around in construction and interior design stores, together with the rest of the Stockholm population, it feels like. We went to IKEA ... phew, what a pain to get through that store on a Saturday! We found nothing there, but in another store we made a really good find. It was a new ceiling lamp!
Ikea on a Saturday
One wonders why you put yourself through going to IKEA on a Saturday? You are forced to pass all departments, crowd everywhere and then queue for a long time for both self-scanning and delivery. Do you usually go to IKEA on Saturdays or do you avoid it?
A new ceiling light
Was there any result of all the shopping trips then? Yes, including a new ceiling light for the kitchen! We found the lamp at Ljushuset on Drottningholmsvägen in Stockholm and have just put it up. We're really happy with it, and since it doesn't hang so far down, we get an even better view out the window. What do you think?
Ditte says:
I'm sure it's great and nice that it doesn't block any views or light. But IKEA on a Saturday or Sunday; absolutely NO. But if you work, there may not be much to choose from.

It was really very nice. It is true that you get a better view when you put up a lamp like that. Nice:) We prefer to avoid Ikea on Saturdays. But sometimes no other day is suitable... then we get the chaos in the bargain.

I haven't been to IKEA very often before, but since they open here in the city on Friday (!), there will probably be a lot of running around there 🙂 ).
The lamp you found was really nice!

Nice with the lamp! Avoiding Ikea nowadays which means that I have entered a phase in my life that I never thought would come... However, I have a lot from Ikea in my home and am happy with those things but have "finished decorating" right now... By the way, I read interesting thoughts about Ikea in the book
Bright and fresh, including about the long journey to get through... Good thing there's food on the way....

The lamp is so cool - LED of course. Very much liked:-)
It has happened that I (i.e. not we) went to Ikea in Barkarby on a Saturday, but the congestion makes you turn round at the door. But if you go there on a Saturday & Sunday during the summer with 23 degrees and sun, there is not a single person there.
Light house lamps are just the best. They are more expensive than Ikea, but much more imaginative. We have also bought most of our lamps there.

Ditte, I would also choose another day if there were alternatives!
Rolle and Carina, maybe best to wait a few days...
😉
Active Days, didn't even know about that book!? But yes, it is probably lucky that you can refuel some food on the way ...
BP, unfortunately not LED. We try to buy only LED, but that one had to be an exception... I agree that Ljushuset had many nice lamps!

Beautiful lamp, a bit of Two Faces about it, liked together with angular skyscrapers on the wall 🙂 .
We were in Varberg earlier this year and there in the hotel's restaurant are fabulous creations in that style ...

Many pensioners seem to like to crowd and shop when people are free!
I'd love to go to IKEA on Monday 24, the day before payday!
Live well!

Frankie & Co, cool lamps in the photo! We have noticed that there are a lot of cool and stylish lamps on the market. But it was a challenge to find one that wouldn't hang too far down, but at the same time can hang at an angle without it looking crazy - the ceiling is slanted....
😉
Lennart, especially pensioners should be able to choose other days! The day before salary is probably smart!

Looking for something similar =)
Would you like to share the name and manufacturer of the lamp?
