I was supposed to fly from Arlanda to Östersund at 08:00 this morning. But what happens? When I wake up, I get a text message saying "Your flight is cancelled". I was rebooked to 11:10, but that's not much fun when you have to give a lecture in the morning and fly home at 16:00 ...
Re-booking
I spoke to the organisers, who arranged for my lecture to be in the afternoon instead of the morning. It was a super quick visit to Östersund ... What a morning!
Two-hour lecture
I lectured for two hours, took a taxi for half an hour and hung out at the airport for another half an hour. In other words, I didn't get to see much of Östersund. But I'm sure it's a nice city.
I gave lectures to managers and staff in group homes, and they were certainly nice! On the plane home we were entertained by one of the flight attendants who sang to us, which was also nice. By the way, I've never experienced that before...
BP says:
It really was a quick visit - hardly that you were jetlagged by it;-)
Östersund is nice and so tiny that you can cover the "village" in 20 minutes max. if you do not get out to Frösön of course;-)

Lots of other stuff and some concrete says:
Sometimes things don't turn out quite as you planned! But it worked out pretty well anyway!

It's nice to feel appreciated when you lecture. A singing flight attendant doesn't feel out of place either.
All in all, a good day with a, albeit small, whiff of Norrland.

BP, 20 min extra for sightseeing would have been good then.
😉
Steve, yes, it was a quick glimpse of Norrland. A bit cooler perhaps, but nice weather

Hi, was it good what she sang..... or was it rather than good? I've never heard a singing hostess...........

Ulla & Torgny, I have never heard it before either... but she was really good at singing! A whole song, in the microphone, she offered to

Isn't she funny? I regularly travel to Östersund for work and last time I met her on my way home. And it's true; she's a good singer.
