Our tips for when you have a blogging drought
Sometimes you can feel stressed because you "have" to update, but should you write about not knowing what to write about? Personally, I find it quite boring to read posts about the blogger's lack of ideas. So what should you do? Here are my top tips. Maybe you have some more?
1. Collect sites
There are probably lots of sites around the web on the subject of your blog, whether you write about interior design, dogs or travel. Collect these sites so you can find them easily. Then just browse around for inspiration!
2. Read the news
What is in the media right now? How does it relate to you and your blog? Write about your views and thoughts on what is happening and being debated.
3. Read blogs and forums
What do other bloggers write about? What are the hot topics on different discussion forums? On The blog portal and Bloglovin you can find new blogs and see what topics are currently being discussed in different categories.
4. Check the statistics
By looking at the statistics on your blog, for example using Google Analytics, you can see which of your posts are the most read. Can you write something else on the same theme?
5. Remember the camera
The camera is the blogger's number one friend. You never know when something interesting will pop up, and a picture can always become a post!
6. Hold on to posts
Some days you are inspired, and other days you don't want to sit at the computer at all. If you write three posts a day, you can save one or two for a day when you're not feeling inspired.
7. Let the blog rest for a while
You don't have to update all the time! Sometimes it can be good to let the blog rest a bit. Blogging should be fun, not stressful.

Definitely something to think about. And why do I write and for whom?

Thanks for those tips! Now I only write one post a day as a rule, but it is true that I sometimes wonder what I should blog about. Strangely enough, an idea always pops up on the way to the bus in the evening if nothing special happened that day.

Great tips! I've just finished a massive study period and now hope to have both time and inspiration to blog more. And read lots of good books. And not least sleep catch up! =)

Ditte, absolutely! The most important thing is that it's fun and gives something positive back. But then you can have different days ...
BP, I agree with you. There is almost always an idea that pops up. But then there may be some days when you have less inspiration.
Emmy, nice to be done with such a period! Hope you can get a little calmer for a while!

Wise advice! And above all, blogging should be fun, not a duty! I thought I would get tired soon, but now I've been doing it since 2005 and it just keeps getting more. I notice when I search for images on google that I have "polluted" the web with lots of images. 😉 They pop up all the time!
It also feels important to have a circle of blogs that you have regular contact with, then you can make excursions here and there with more superficial blog friends.
Have a nice weekend! There will be training, I understand.
