Swedes want to go camping on their winter holidays, at least if recent statistics are to be believed. A new survey from SCR - Swedish Camping shows that 7 out of 10 Swedes who want to go on a winter holiday see camping as an option. Here you can see more results from the survey.

The study shows that Swedes have a strong interest in winter holidays, and that camping is definitely an option.
- Who wants to go on a winter holiday? Many (74 %) want to go on a winter holiday this year, or any other year. Most interested are Stockholmers (80 %) and young people aged 18-34 (81 %).
- What do Swedes want to do on their winter holidays? Swedes want to go downhill skiing (47 %), cross-country skiing (41 %), socialising (52 %), sauna (44 %) and shopping (36 % for women and 20 % for men).
- Who would consider camping? A total of 69 % of Swedes would consider camping on a winter holiday. Among young people aged 18-25 and families with children, the proportion is 76 %.
- What are the benefits of camping on a winter holiday? Reasons for choosing camping for winter holidays are price (56 %), self-catering (39 %) and proximity to skiing (29 %).

Interesting! Have tried caravan (rented) in Sälen, Lindvallen with husband and two daughters. It was nice. We lived on the slopes and were close to the skiing and it was easy to get home and have lunch. We had prepared the dinners at home and frozen them, which made it easier. At first I thought it was a bit awkward to go out to shower, but I got used to it.For me it will be both warmth and skiing this winter, no camping. But downhill skiing and living in a house or hotel.

Ditte, it's nice that you get to go both to warmth and skiing! A few years ago we thought about taking the motorhome to the mountains in the winter, but that didn't happen...
BP, we like skiing, but we like warmth even more... so for us, sunshine holidays have also usually become a priority...
