In the beginning we thought we would choose a more old-fashioned style of interior design in the houseboat, but it has become more and more modern ... Right now we are fixing the clothing storage in our large "walk-in-closet", which is really just one end of our large room on the lower deck.
Our walk-in-closet
"Walk-in closet" may be an overly fancy word, but it sounds good! What we're talking about is simply one end of the large room at the bottom of the boat, the room that doubles as a bedroom and exercise room. (Not to be confused with our little crawl-in closetthat is, the boiler room).
Mirrored doors and chest of drawers
If anyone thought we've been slacking off since we came home from the Philippines, it's obviously wrong ... We've put up mirrored doors for our clothes hangers and fixed a new chest of drawers. As you can see, our old houseboat has been modernised. It's not what we originally intended, but we like it! What do you think?

I understand that you have worked hard. I think the more modern approach works well, and since space is limited, it's probably wise to use neat solutions. Very nice, I think.

One of the great challenges of living on a boat must be to maximise the use of the limited space available. Here you've found a really clever solution. And it's beautiful, too.

Think it looks nice, think modern is nice. Not so much for old-fashioned style. 🙂

Neat and tidy, and neat too. Hard to believe we're in a boat 😉.

Incredibly neat! I mean even if the boat or house/apartment is old from the outside, you don't live in the time when they were built. You want your own taste and modern decor. I would have done that too!

Thank you for your comments, and I'm glad that many people like our solutions!
🙂
Steve, yes, sometimes the surfaces are arranged a little differently too... so you have to think both once and twice!

This is exactly how my dear partner wants us to live when it's time to leave the nomadic life behind. Old and faithful on the outside, new and fresh on the inside.
We want to see more houseboat renovation! 🙂
