It snows and snows, and we get to experience houseboat life in winter weather. Really cosy actually! These pictures are from yesterday afternoon, when it snowed a little more moderately than today and when the sun also looked out cautiously. If you are wondering, we have no problem with the heat in the boat, even though the upstairs is uninsulated and several windows are only single glazed.
Keeping the boat warm
Underfloor heating, radiators and an air source heat pump help keep the boat warm. It's quite possible that it all shows up on the electricity bills, but luckily there aren't too many areas to heat ...
BP says:
Great pictures! Wonderful to hear that you are not cold. There is nothing worse than cold indoors.
Oh the electricity bill - of course it comes as a letter in the post - literally, but it's worth it!

Lovely pictures Take it easy on the bridge so you don't slip in.
The heat is rising but I know from my own experience that electricity can be expensive. I must say that I think you have an interesting accommodation.

Nice pictures, but it looks cold. But it's cold almost everywhere right now 😉.
The biggest advantage of your accommodation is that you don't have to shovel 😀.

BP, the accommodation isn't that expensive, so we'll have to pay some electricity bills...
Nisse, sometimes it is actually a bit slippery on the bridge, but almost better now that there is real snow!
Steve, yes there is a few degrees difference if you compare the Philippines and here...
Anki, I agree, freezing is not nice...

Beautiful! And you can't freeze because it's cold outside. Money has no value in itself if you don't do something fun with it. Right? And spending a few dollars on your accommodation and electricity is pleasant, as is travelling.
It is good that you have now organised everything that has to do with heating and water, so it will be easier to enjoy life in the houseboat.

Ditte, it's nice that everything practical works in the houseboat now. And of course you should use money for things you need.
Matts, yes, we promise! It's warm inside.

Agneta says:
beautiful pictures and nice that you do not freeze ... that it costs a little to heat up can be taken from I assume that you then during the warm time do not need to heat at all.
