Today we visited the Caravan Stockholm 2014 motorhome and caravan exhibition at Kistamässan in Stockholm. Here are some pictures and reflections. Were you there too? What did you think?
Table of contents
Much is the same
A lot of things are the same, which means there's a lot of focus on exclusivity and a little less on functionality. The larger motorhomes have many stylish seating areas and luxurious bedrooms, but kitchens are rarely given space.
Beds over the seating area
Many models have beds that fold down over the seating area. This might work if you have friends over on occasion, but it will be difficult with children or teenagers who sleep at completely different times to us adults ...?
Motorhome with garage
You had to book a private tour for the largest Morelon, but you could also enjoy looking at the garage ...
Affordable family cars
Sunlight's models stood out as slightly more affordable family cars, with a focus on practicality rather than luxury: plenty of beds and good storage space.
Ploughshares are hot
Vans seem to be hot! We've never seen so many vans at a fair before... Pössl (top) always makes nice cars. We found La Strada (bottom) to be clumsier, with more of a "boat" feel to the interior. We liked Adria's new van models best of all: Twin 600. Sleek vans with modern interior design. It's surprising how much you can fit in such a small car!
Vehicle Tram
We also became curious about the small electric vehicle Trikke. The vehicle, which weighs 20kg including the battery, is collapsible and would fit nicely in the campervan's garage ...
Across the board says:
It is usually nice to be at a fair, but we have never visited Kista. Thank you for your impressions.

Ninni, Henrik and the Hjulius motorhome says:
For us, there was no fair in Kista. No time and no money and a year ago when we were there we were a little disappointed that there were so few accessories. But but... fun to see some new cars even if you are not looking for one.

BP says:
Yep, we were also there today (see post). Oh I got stuck on about the same cars as you.
Only put up three pieces including Morelon. Too bad the Toyota was not included in the price;-)
Our favourites were the Pilote G600 LA and the Kabe models that do not have a door on the passenger side. We didn't like the fold-down beds that the husband collides with when they are folded up.
Then I thought it was a bit funny with the TV in your picture 8. So who wants a Telefunken TV, but it's even more problematic to watch TV when it's raining outside;-).
These trikes are a common sight in Spain, a bit of a seasickness warning about them.

Always fun to look and see if you can get some tips for yourself. But no, was not there. We have a sailboat, but maybe we would have got some ideas for it too.
We are now in Spain, enjoying the early summer heat and sun. And there are plenty of motorhomes here...

Criss-cross, the Kista fair is quite small compared to Elmia. But for us it is close...
Ninni, there were not so many accessories now either. Some small things, but not much.
BP, oh then I'll go in and have a look! The TV... hmm... one can hope that there is some protection for it...?
Ditte, sounds lovely with the early summer heat, and I can imagine that you see motorhomes!

I have just found this blog and I will definitely come back and look around properly when I have more time because I am sure there is lots of inspiration here. I wonder if you have ever been to Scotland? I myself live in and blog from Scotland so it would be interesting to hear if you've been here too... 🙂.

Marina says:
Well, a motorhome is not on the wish list here, but a trikke, well, why not!

Mr Steve says:
La Strada, a motorhome with a 'boat feel'. It certainly sounds like something you can feel at home in.

Scottish Moment, glad you stopped by! I was a quick trip to Scotland in January, have left a comment with you.
Marina, it seems pretty cool and useful actually! But like everything else in this world, it's not free, but we're thinking about having something similar with us in the campervan....
Steve, yes haha you can think like that... although I thought the interior felt a bit boring actually, like a plastic boat...
😉

You and BP were at the same fair and you both fell in love with the big Morelon. I think it's good to have a car that is no longer than 8 metres. Then you can get around on smaller and beautiful roads. The big cars have to stick to motorways and they are not very exciting. Elisabeth

Elisabeth, well Morelon is a bit extraordinary to show in a picture. But I completely agree with you. We don't want such a big car. Then some of the feeling of freedom disappears. It becomes more difficult to drive and more difficult to park. In fact, the car we liked the most was Adria's new van - much smaller, in other words! We can't have a van because we need four beds, but I like the idea!

Lennart says:
Yes, the Fair is probably too small to live up to expectations.
Motorhome with built-in doghouse was a novelty from Kabe http://husbilslivet.se/husbil-med-hundkoja/2805/

Lennart, they could really increase the accessories page at the fair! Haha, fun with a built-in doghouse! I did not see it.

Wow, what motorhomes there are! Great to be able to take a small car on the trip, I would have liked that if I had a motorhome 😀.

Was there, similar impression as yours... 🙂 Just blogged on the theme...

Camilla, hehe... maybe not so bad (even if the motorhome itself is pretty big...).
😉
AktivaDagar, interesting. Then I'll visit you and take a look!

We were a bit disappointed with the fair this year. So it will probably be a while before we go back there. Felt like it was a smaller one this year and a disaster that they have so few accessories. That is also what you want to look at. When we were there, it felt a bit "lazy" from the seller side to the motorhomes. Too bad. But we would not change the motorhome...Hope you had a nice look...but too bad we could not meet there.
