Today we have experienced the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. After five hours with Norwegian we landed today in a sunny and warm Marrakech. There we met the Norwegian organisers and two drivers from Sahara Experience. And then we set off on a long car journey over the Atlas Mountains and inland.
Car journey across the Atlas Mountains
Morocco's landscape is brownish-red and often beautiful with its dizzyingly high mountains and winding roads. We drive and drive, we talk, we look and we stop from time to time to take pictures. The landscape is sometimes barren and sometimes green, and it feels like we are far, far away from home. Not least when our guides speak Arabic of course.
For some reason, one of our party knows what air conditioning is in Arabic, and it helps. Our guide switches on the air-conditioning and we continue, mile after mile through the barren landscape.
Stop for food and crafts
We make a stop for food, which is both delicious and enjoyable. Then we make several stops to look at shops selling handicrafts. It is mainly woven carpets, porcelain in strong colours and Argan oil that is produced here.
It feels a bit like you should shop and what they sell is beautiful and feels genuine, but we're not in the mood to carry more stuff. Some of our friends buy Argan oil. It feels good!
Hotels in Zagora
Now we have finally arrived at our hotel in Zagora. The hotel is called Kasbah Sirocco and seems nice and good in every way. Wifi works moderately well here, but otherwise everything is excellent and pleasantly relaxed.

Hello!
I wonder if you know if it ever happens that people want to sublet their houseboats/boats in the Marina?
I am moving to Stockholm, and it is very difficult to get accommodation and I can not stop thinking about living on a bobboat / houseboat. But the thing is that I can feel that I would like to test how it feels to live like that before buying something myself. What do you think?

Ulla and Torgny, we travelled a long way...
Sandra, glad you like the idea of a houseboat! It certainly happens, but in practice perhaps rarely because there are not so many. I don't know anyone to recommend unfortunately...
BP, Peter loves the heat! Today we are going to the desert, so wifi might be tricky....

Fantastic!!! The internet almost didn't work at all for us, so little (no) blog posts from the trip while we were there. Also, the programme was quite dense 😉 Got to hear what you are going to do and it sounds absolutely amazing! Enjoy yourselves a lot! Can't wait to follow along here on the blog and see what you do.
