More than a week has passed since aircraft MH370 disappeared on the route between Kuala Lumpur and Beijing. Initially it was thought that the aircraft would soon be found crashed somewhere, but instead time passed and every day the news is flooded with various speculations.
How can an aeroplane disappear?
Today DN writes that the pilots are being investigated and according to Aftonbladet the plane might even be on the ground somewhere. At the same time, everyone is asking the same question: How can such a large aircraft, with so many people, just disappear? Don't we have plenty of opportunities for technical surveillance today?
Worse than on film
If someone had written a thriller with this plot, you'd think it was exciting, but a bit unlikely. "Ok, good film, but hardly realistic", as it were. But as usual, the poem is surpassed by reality. What we can't even manage to fantasise about, happens for real. Now we hope that they solve this mystery before time erases all traces. What do you think happened? Do events like this make you afraid to fly?
Ladies Abroad says:
Agreed, absolutely unbelievable that it can happen. A bit like the TV series Lost but in reality

BP says:
This story is weird, very weird. Oh, I'm sure someone will write a book about it - whatever the ending is.
I understand from BBC/SkyNews that there is no radar over large oceans. The hope now is that some boat somewhere in the sea has spotted the plane. 25 countries are now involved in the search. Not all countries are very co-operative, as their equipment may reveal their own secrets...
Personally, I think the plane has been kidnapped for some reason and is somewhere on the ground. The size of the plane rules out short runways. So it's probably not on a small island.
No, I am not afraid of flying because of what has happened.

Maggan and Ingemar says:
I think it reminds me a bit of the series Lost that ran a few years ago. Nobody would have thought that it would become a reality. I do not like flying or travelling by boat on large waters. Anyway... I hope they find something like that so we don't have to speculate.

Ladies Abroad, yes, that series. I haven't seen it, but I remember all the talk about it!
BP, the planet is pretty big, you realise, especially the oceans, and everyone has to cooperate... I'm always a bit afraid of flying, but I keep it in check. I want to be able to travel!
Maggan and Ingemar, yes, it is unpleasant not to know. One really hopes that it can clear up the question marks!

Lena & Jan says:
Mm 9-11 also happened for real, no technology in the world can cope with such primitive damage as these!

Role o Carina says:
Really uncomfortable that such a big plane is gone!!!
Terrible if the pilots are also terrorists or have links to terrorists.
to some network of terror !!!
I really hope they find it soon, many relatives.
waiting and waiting !!!
I'm not afraid of flying, but my wife is!

Lena & Jan, sure, you can always destroy...
Rolle and Carina, yes, it would feel better if you had an explanation.

Inga M says:
Very strange! Now the pilots also seem to have a terrorist background (don't they check???), which strengthens the suspicion of a crime. In any case, I am happy about the message from the son a few hours ago that he and his wife landed in Seattle, without being hijacked or crashed. 😉

Inga M, of course it's strange... The pilots should be checked, but at the same time it's difficult to know everything... Flying is really safe, but it always feels good when you know that someone has landed safely!
🙂

Truly a mystery. It's like 7/11, you think it's a film. Bring in James Bond - he'll get the passengers back (if only).
