Easter lunch on deck in the sun - what a fantastic day we have enjoyed! After a long Swedish winter, we are shocked. The sun is shining - and it's warm! We had to hurry to clean the deck from boards and building materials, and get the outdoor furniture in the motorhome. Now we wanted to eat Easter lunch on the deck!
Lovely to live in a houseboat
The rays glitter like gold on the surface of the water. The leisure boats putter in and out of the harbour entrance and the people on board wave excitedly. At Sjökrogen, guests sip white wine in the sun loungers, or stroll back and forth on the pier while chatting and pointing out the water. And by the way, the ice cream parlour has opened! On days like this, it just feels soooo right to stay on a houseboat!
Easter decorations in the marina
Several of our houseboat neighbours here in Pampas marina have Easter decorations on or around their boats. here are both daffodils and Easter rice, and it is just so charming and nice! We ourselves are pretty bad at decorating, not least now that we are renovating and fixing, but we still enjoy the view.
Amongst it all are the ducks Kalle and Kajsa, who seem to feel at home and comfortable. They are not the least bit concerned about the people on the piers, but hang out casually at people's front doors...
Our Easter lunch on deck
So, how was our Easter lunch on deck? Fantastic, we must say! What else can it be when you get to sit on the deck of a rocking houseboat and enjoy the spring sun? It is absolutely incredible that it is so hot that you can sit outside in a t-shirt for Easter, but it is just to thank and receive and enjoy the nice weather.
It was a pretty classic Easter lunch for our part with herring, boiled potatoes, boiled potatoes, cooked eggs, country pâté with Cumberland sauce, meatballs and beetroot salad. A little bit of Skåne was the icing on the cake!
