Are you planning a holiday, but are a little short of funds? There are various ways to supplement your budget, and one way is to sell off things you don't need. According to a recent article, we Swedes have a lot of things that we could sell ...
Popular storage items
Travel Report writes that we Swedes have an average of SEK 30,000 worth of rubbish in our basements and storerooms. Maybe it's worth taking a trip to the storeroom, clean up a bit and sell something you don't need?
According to Blocket, the most popular storage items right now are bicycles, outdoor furniture, lawnmowers, sofas, dressers, desks, trampolines, coffee tables, beds and Lego. What do you have in your storage unit? Ours is actually pretty cleaned out now... we sold off most of it when we moved to the houseboat.
Robin says:
We have just sold a shower wall, a worktop and a TV bench for a total of SEK 2000. These things have stood for over 1 year without use so now it was time!
If it is not things to throw away, it works to sell, "pick up for free" or give away to loved ones who may need whatever it is, better that someone gets use of it! You always buy too much shit, I think most people do, it's also nice to get rid of! 😀

Marina says:
Something I'm painfully aware of, so despite the giant one that was made when we moved from house to flat, it's probably time for another one when we get home!

Lots of other stuff and some concrete says:
We have plenty! Our children dread the day we might move.
We have sold some larger items on Blocket and now it's time for a tailgate sale. Only time was...

What do you know! We saw that outdoor furniture is in at the flea market last weekend. The thing is that you have to be able to pack up the rubbish, take to the flea market or sell on Blocket... Oh lazy as we are, we throw it two stairs down in the bulky waste room.

So true! Besides, it's so nice to get rid of things you don't use anyway... I've cleared a lot myself... But some more would have to move out...

Robin, you buy too much... and sometimes the wrong things. It's unnecessary for them to just stand around and take up space. If you also get a penny, there's nothing wrong with that, is there?
😉
Marina, that's easy to do...
A lot of other things and some concrete, it's easy to spend time on other things... things that aren't urgent often don't get done.
😉
BP, it does take some time and effort...
ActiveDays, some kind of freedom to not have a lot of unnecessary stuff actually... or so I can experience it anyway.

Mr Steve says:
When we moved here to Getingstorp, we deliberately got rid of all the "rubbish". Well, everything else too for that matter. What we had in our turn-of-the-century apartment in the city was not suitable for decorating Getingstorp, so it was a real fresh start.
We now live by the motto: nothing is saved just because it might be useful at some point. What we don't need has to go. It feels very good.
Without "rubbish" to sell, the "holiday fund" has to be managed in another way.

Steve, moving is a great time to get rid of stuff! We've also got rid of most things, so it's the same for us.
