This is so crazy, you just have to hear it! Do you remember that we used to get strange and nasty comments on the blog from a person who calls himself Anders (or sometimes Kalle)? It's one thing to get boring comments online. When someone tries to interfere in your life for real, it's another thing ...
Appeal against a building permit
A few weeks ago, Anders/Kalle decided to appeal against our building permit for the houseboat here in Pampas marina. Yes, that is indeed true. He objected to the construction of the boat - not because he would be disturbed himself, but because he simply does not believe in our ideas. This person interfered with our decisions by filing an appeal under a false name.
Appeal in a false name
There is no one in Sweden called "Anders Erixsson". Moreover, he used a secret IP address, which shows hits on "Hide my ass" in Chicago. We don't know who this person is, but we recognise both the made-up name and the content from the comments on the blog. Peter and I have been taught to stand up for what we do, but apparently anderssthlm@outlook.com has not.
Appeal to the County Administrative Board
The appeal was forwarded from our municipality to the County Administrative Board. Fortunately, there are wise people at the County Administrative Board, who quickly took up the matter. The appeal has now been rejected, and the building permit stands.
For your information, you must give your correct name and contact details when appealing against a building permit. Is this what happens when you choose to blog about yourself and your life? We have now filed a police report.

But ugh so unpleasant & good that the madman did not sink you too much!

Mr Steve says:
Well, what do you say. I wish you all the best and hope that you can now complete your construction as planned.

BP says:
Oh my God - you're joking!!!! No, I don't think you are, but that doesn't make any sense. Holy shit. Sorry.
It feels very unpleasant even though the County Administrative Board has rejected his appeal. I mean the guy (it could even be a girl) could be anyone - a neighbour with a server in some other part of the world who wants to mess with you. It's good that you reported it to the police. It's just a matter of staying on top of the police - all the time, so that the case doesn't end up far down the pile. That person should only receive a severe punishment.
It is such a shame that your nice blog that is so fun to read and contains so much good info should be "punished" in that way. You just get sad ...

Ditte says:
Absolutely awful! And the worst thing is that you can probably never protect yourself against "fools" of this and other kinds. It is good that there are wise people at the County Administrative Board who can see through sheer vanity. It is good that your building permit remains and I hope that this weak, cowardly person can be convicted. As soon as possible!
I really feel for you and am so excited .....
Thoughts of strength to you.

My God, how tragic!!! =( So that Anders/Kalle can't have a fun life but feels that he has to stir the pot a bit? Poor guy =/

Anna in Qatar says:
Oh no, what an idiot!
They should get a hobby! Buy a fucking dog, get a life (not yours).
I have my father who reads and messes up for me. There is so much I want to write but I can't right now. I have been reported to the police three times! For absolutely no evidence at all. It is not so exciting to be reported missing, for example, in a Muslim conservative country.

Maggan and Ingemar says:
Agree with others, there are those who seem to have no life.
We also sometimes get strange comments from anonymous people, but sometimes it can be someone who has failed to sign their name.
To go so far as to interfere with your building permit is a bit too much. It's good that you're reporting it to the police, even if the police aren't likely to do much about it. I hope you will avoid his comments in the future, when he realises that appealing didn't help.
Hugs

Marie, the timetable is still intact...
Steve, thank you! So nice to have positive comments to balance things out!
🙂
BP, no unfortunately it was not a joke...
Ditte, yes, it was good that they were both quick and wise at the County Administrative Board!
Spider girl, it must be so...
Anna in Qatar, your situation doesn't sound like fun either! Sad to feel limited in what you can write ...
Maggan and Ingemar, it may well be ok to comment as anonymous (I have also experienced that it is sometimes just someone who forgets) if you write something normal... but this... sigh

Glad it was solved and quite right you reported to the police!!! Hugs

Unfortunately, online hate seems to be a common problem. The police have now produced a video on how to deal with online hate. However, I don't think the film clip was very informative.

The travel dream, many thanks for the film! Some good info anyway I thought. Good to know where the police stand on the issue if nothing else.
THANK YOU to everyone else too for nice and encouraging comments! It warms and strengthens!

What an unpleasant thing, the internet is a bit tricky in that you don't really know who is sitting behind the screen. Mostly we are good people, but then there are the others. Fortunately, they did not manage to put obstacles in your way in any case! 🙂
Answer: We go to Thailand for almost 6 weeks now next week (or yes, in 12 days). Will be incredibly nice with a holiday!

But my goodness, the jealousy must be so great! You don't want to believe it's true... It's good that it worked out and that there are good people too. Hugs

Imagine how many sick people there are. But I've told you before...there are so many jealous people. Fortunately, the building permit was not disturbed by this bad guy. We hold on to you:-)) Hugs

Henny says:
You can hardly believe it's true. It's true that there is online hate, but isn't there usually another way? Not just nasty comments, but threats of the worst kind and so on.
Do you have any idea who it might be? I was email bombed once many years ago and realised it was one of my students. Just a prank of course, but I took a chance and wrote an email to him and he was silent.
Let's hope that this person/persons also give up and stop harassing you.

Agreed, the unpleasant thing about the Internet is that people can hide behind secret identities. It seems to attract unpleasant sites. Great holiday in Thailand!
Katta, yes we were a bit worried that the authorities would be more slow, but they acted quickly and sensibly!
Deciree, thank you! Yes, sometimes you wonder why people put energy into this kind of thing. Can't you just stop reading our blog if you don't like it?
Henny, no, we hardly thought it was true either... I have also wondered if it could be someone we know who it is. But we haven't been able to figure out who in that case...

Annika says:
OMG!!! It's absolutely bloody unbelievable!
What are people like?
But it's great that you were able to research the person despite the ano-IP. Exactly, you are never anonymous online. I'm surprised people can't learn that.
I can only imagine that it is pure jealousy. But gosh, it's SO scary.
I hope you can get rid of HER now. GAAHHH!!!

Inga M says:
There seem to be a lot of reports to municipalities and other authorities of this type, many more than you think. And the vast majority seem to be made by people who in some way are / have been in the vicinity, such as neighbours, distant acquaintances. Good that you reported to the police. It might help to reveal the identity. I assume that you have searched online for the ID number, there are several search engines that you can use.
I'm glad it's over for this time at least.

Annika, you REALLY wonder how people are wired. Unfortunately, we have not been able to find out who it is, because he has a secret IP address. But the police might be able to find out, should the need arise.
No M, we have searched for the ID number, but it seems he is using a secret one because it points to the US. Or rather, the latest one does. He has used a few different... I think the police may have other options, if the need arises.

Mary of Rövarhamn says:
We have also received messages from an unknown Mr Kalle. Although he took our side, he expressed himself in an unpleasant way and took certain initiatives of his own that hardly favoured our cause. But that was a year ago now. Not heard from him since then. Think maybe Kalle is one of the more common cover names, so it may not be the same guy. Well, Hope it's over now. Hugs, L

Mary af Rövarhamn, that's interesting to hear, although it's sad that this kind of thing happens to more people. Yes, we hope it's good now.
