Now, and for the next five weeks, we are living in the campervan full time. This is not the first time we have lived in the car for this long. When we've been on holiday in Europe, it's also been about four or five weeks - and sometimes there have been four of us. The difference this time is that it's everyday life.
Full roll ...
On holiday you have all the time in the world. It's warm outside and you have a glass of wine while fixing dinner, with no rush. Now we get up at five in the morning and go to work. Then there's shopping, cooking, fixing the boat ... well, you know. Everything has to work!
Everyday life in a motorhome?
What is it like to live in a motorhome? Yes, it's fine. We like the motorhome and have everything we need here. The bed is more comfortable than on the boat and I love cooking on the gas stove. Since we have electricity, mobile phones and other things work just as usual.
A bit more cumbersome perhaps to have to fill up water and empty tanks sometimes, and not having a dishwasher. I have stocked up on paper plates for the most stressful occasions, but otherwise we use our new dishwasher. melamine tableware.
Shower in the marina
You can take a shower in the motorhome, but it's very watery so it's better to use the showers in the marina. To be honest, it's been a bit of a struggle at 5am, even though it's not that many metres to walk... But maybe it's just a matter of getting into new habits!
We now do our laundry in the marina's laundry room, which is close and easy. So this will go well. Soooo nice to have a motorhome to live in. We feel at least as at home here as in the houseboat!
Mr Steve says:
It is a gift to be able to feel at home in several places. Even if everything is not always comfortable, there is still a sense of security in the feeling of home.

Mr Nils-Åke Hansson says:
We think it's great to live in the motorhome. When we are in Portugal and Spain for five or six months.
You get used to emptying and filling.
Now we have been out a lot since we came home to Sweden.
Currently at Z-Parken in Motala.
Greetings
Nils-Åke

Steve, everything is very comfortable really. Fantastic for a car! There are little things that take a bit longer, which you only really think about if you're in a hurry.
Towis, the motorhome is always a bit of a holiday feeling!
🙂
Nils-Åke, it's great to live in the motorhome! We have plans to be out in it for a whole year, and have no qualms whatsoever about it. But it is interesting now, when it is everyday life and quite high intensity at work, both at work and at home ...

Nice that you have the "practical" like shower and laundry room at the marina. It helps! We lived in a caravan for a week in Sälen in the winter with two eight-year-olds and it was cold to go and shower after a day on the slopes. But it went better than expected ...
If it gets a little warmer now, it probably feels better to go out and take a shower in the early morning hours ...
Good luck with everything and I know you have a lot ahead of you. What a journey you will make in the "Pampas".

The Freedom blends in perfectly with the boats, I must say. Taking a shower at five in the morning anywhere other than in the campervan is human trafficking. I would shower in the evenings...

It sounds undeniably so nice! You have everything in the neighbourhood anyway! OCh soon the boat is in the lake again, renovated and nice!
Good thing it's summer. In addition, the motorhome is in such a GOOD place. Close to everything!!! I would also shower in the evening, if I were you 🙂.
Have a great weekend!!!

Bosse and Gerd says:
We lived in the motorhome from the beginning of September 2013 to the end of April 2014, i.e. for 8 months, and there were no problems whatsoever.
Rather, it was difficult to get used to living "indoors" when we returned to Sweden!

Ditte, it really helps to have everything practical around. I realise that it can be a bit more challenging in the winter and with children, but it works too!
BP, there will probably be showering in the evenings...
Annika, it works great, now we just need to get the renovation done!
Bosse and Gerd, we can understand that it was difficult to get used to "normal" living! We have also found it difficult, just after five weeks...

Can understand that it is heavy to go out and shower at 5 in the morning....but what luck that it is summer...if it now feels better:-) but I think so. You can enjoy and look from the motorhome at your second home..the houseboat. Fortunately, you still have Freedom:-)) Hugs
