The boat hull is now sanded! Working time for one person (that's me): three full working days and two evenings. I have been dreaming about this boat hull at night for the last week... Now I feel it inside and out: every scratch and dent.
Grinding with a grinding machine
What comes next is for Peter to sand off all the small rust spots with a sander, for us to wash the hull with a pressure washer and then to paint two coats of two-component paint. The pictures show the view from the marina, towards the place where our houseboat usually lies ...

Well, you didn't have time to watch the World Cup then;-)
I admire you. You are so incredibly talented and stubborn.
Answer: It's nice that you also have a relationship with reversed roles. I like that, because I am so incredibly tired of all the "norms".

Oh how hard you work! It is as hard as possible to scratch old paint, wash and such. Can only imagine how good a hull is!!! But then comes the fun, the painting! How nice it will be :) fight on!

Johanna, painting is much more fun!
🙂
Lena & Jan, old steel hulls require treatment, we understand...
Ama de casa, you don't dare to be careless, or the boat won't last...
Helga, exciting! Wishing her a great trip!

How exciting to read about your boat project. I am also a co-owner of an old steel boat that I unfortunately cannot take any credit for scraping the hull. My brother did all the work, but now Loke is travelling the canals of Europe. You can read about Loke here. http://msloke.se/ Or my blog here
http://torptravel.blogspot.se/. This year the trip is across the Atlantic, but next summer I hope to take a trip with Loki.
