The houseboat is originally from the 1930s and has been remodelled a number of times. So different parts have a different number of years behind them. Some parts are quite modern while others make you think you are on a historical tour of the Regalskeppet Vasa or something.
Not only the floor which is solid
You may remember the floor? Not the thinnest you've seen, so to speak ... Now we come to the nails that have been used. They are not that small either ...

A lot of stuff, really. One advantage of discussing the "home" is to see how everything is constructed and what is present and perhaps missing...

Marina says:
On second thought, maybe seven-inch nails aren't that big after all...

What nails! I hope you don't throw them away. You can use them to make world-class works of art. I have done that with nails that a colleague pulled out of an old farmhouse. Love these nails:-)

Ditte, yes, we can really see what the boat looks like everywhere...
Marina, that's pretty much what I was thinking too...
😉
BP, we will at least keep this one as a souvenir. Don't know if there will be many either, not everyone is like this...

Imagine that a blacksmith has hammered out that forged nail almost 100 years ago... Imagine how proud he would be if he could see in what good condition it is still! 🙂

FixarFarsan, that was a funny thought! Some of the older stuff is definitely sturdy!

Inga M says:
It was solid stuff! But it also looks a bit rusty, maybe you're lucky to replace some of it.

admin says:
Inga M, yes, there are a few things that are rusty... and rotten... and we have also found mould in some places. But those bits are being demolished now!
