When we demolished the old superstructure (the living room) in the houseboat, it was of course time to start building something new! First a company came and welded a basic iron frame. Then Peter and his brother Dennis started building the frame for the room. Peter's son Billie and his cousin Pontus also helped.
Building a new upper floor
This is a gigantic job! It's almost like building a whole house from scratch, only the house is on the hull of a boat. Peter and Dennis have done a lot of building in their lives, so that's lucky. Still, this is a challenging project!
Nothing is straight anywhere and it is also important to distribute the weight so that the boat is straight when it comes back down into the water ... First it was the frames for the new room that had to go up.
A new room is emerging
On the new frame of the houseboat, a new room is now emerging. Nothing is easy, because everything on a boat swings, bends, curves... There is no single straight line, and there are many decisions to be made. But in the end, the room emerges!

Ditte, you are of course welcome to drop by!

BP, well... my sporting activities have probably involved horse riding and skiing when I was younger. Today we like to train when we have time (ie not now when we are building). But I find team sports with a ball hard, because I don't understand the rules... haha... and I don't have any ball sense...

Tearing and digging is no fun.

Impressive! The only thing missing was probably the fact that you were going to do the superstructure as the icing on the cake. It will be exciting to follow.
