The whole houseboat gets new panelling. The new part must of course be panelled, but we are also replacing the panels on the old part. This is a lot of work, I can promise! Four guys are at work constantly, while I take care of ground service and other tasks around.
A lot of work
First of all, we have to make the joists to attach the panelling, then we have to cut the right lengths and put them up. We have bought pre-primed panels, which will then be painted twice with ready-made paint. It will be a light grey colour called sea mist.
The new panel
This is what it looks like when the new panel comes up on the houseboat. Nice when you start to see some results. At the same time, you can say that the lack of sleep is starting to make itself felt now... Everything takes longer than expected.
On a boat, there is not a single straight line and standard sizes do not work anywhere. Everything has to be fixed and weighed. But we are working on it! After all, we don't want to keep it on land (and pay double rent) all summer ...

It's going to be great!
I put new panelling on the house in the 90s!
Bought timber from a saw in northern Dalarna, don't dare tell me what I paid!
Regulated and additionally insulated.
At the bottom 30 x 150 mm. Lid 25 x 100 mm. Painted with Falu Red colour. The neighbours wondered if we had a big win.
The house became steady!
Live well

God what a job! Have said it before - you are so heavenly talented! When you are done with the boat, you can continue at home with us - in a regular apartment; -)

How nice it is and the new colour is fitting; sea mist.
And I send some encouragement to those of you who are working!
I really enjoy following the work with boats and am so impressed with how you do it.

Lennart, sounds like a great job!
🙂
BP, when we're done, we'll never build again... well, that's how it feels right now anyway!
😉
Lena, yes, it's extensive... First, repainting the entire boat hull (not small) and then demolition and new construction of an entire room (with exterior walls, windows, door, etc.). And also new panelling and new windows on the old part ...
THANK YOU also for all the other encouraging comments!
