We are painting and repainting the houseboat. The panel is pretty much finished (light grey) and most of the windows and linings are also finished (white). But there are still a lot of details left, plus all the metal to be painted: deck, pillars, railing, ladder ... I can't possibly do it all and youngest son Billie is happy that there are summer jobs.
Summer job on houseboat construction
For young people, having a summer job is ideal. For us, it's great to have someone to help us with the houseboat construction.
Across the board says:
So good that there are summer jobs and that you get some extra hands to help 😉.
As for pain, my hubby went to the doctor because his shoulder had been hurting for several months. The doctor's response was: "You know - if you have passed 40 and wake up one morning without feeling anything - well then you're dead ...."

Henny says:
So double the benefit, you get help and Billie gets a good summer job. But please don't wear yourselves out completely, sure it costs money to take a day off and just be, but I think you'd gain a lot from it.

Henny, it's a good deal for everyone! Yes, we would probably need some rest really ... but it feels difficult to take the time ...
😉
Lennart, yes, it almost works best to work in the evenings!
Ama de casa, good deal

You have become hardy who can be out in the sun, myself I seek shade and at its height the legs get some sun on them hihihi
I can imagine that it consumes a lot of liquid.

It's good to get help and it's also a win/win situation. And the work is progressing... Good for you. This heat does not exactly make it easier.
Positive working thoughts to you.

Just like us homeowners, you have to paint otherwise... Just take care in the evenings when it is cooler in this fantastic summer weather, it may even be too hot to paint! We use Norwegian oil stain of the brand JOTUN the south side requires repainting every 8 years like that, I guess houseboats require other colours. Such a summer as this year, even gutters, window sills, etc. are now crawling so of course the factory warranty has expired ;-(

Haha. Funny comment from doctors. They probably get to hear everything and yes, it's true, a little pain maybe you have to take, the body ages. But at the same time, pain in the shoulder for months? mjae... It looks warm for both you and the children.

Ditte, the best time to work is in the evening...
Lena, of course you have to paint at regular intervals... On the wooden building itself we have chosen a colour that will last a long time. On the deck we paint with non-water soluble one-component paint and on the hull with two-component paint.
Katarina, nothing wrong with the heat... or yes, it uses a lot of water/soda/juice/whatever...
