We have now spent nine weeks in the motorhome, in a car park. And our experience is that it works very well! A prerequisite, of course, is that we have access to a lot of services here: water, sewage, electricity, waste management, toilets, showers and a laundry room. Then we feel good in the motorhome. The bed is the most comfortable we have and it's great for cooking.
Challenges
The challenge has been to try to stay organised in the midst of all the stress. We always have dirty construction clothes and periodically we have been three people who have to spread around work clothes full of sawdust ... But all in all, it works very well to live in a motorhome. And you almost begin to wonder what you use all the square metres for in a normal home ...?
Frankie & Co says:
Yes, exactly, what do you have all the m2 for...
We who have been home for two weeks are going on a roll this weekend and Frank is ready after work, yay!
Hope you have a good weekend too!

Glad that you have such a positive judgement about motorhome life. Freedom stands where it is, so you can always alternate if the spirit should fall on - such as during the winter months;-)

Living in a motorhome is great!
We spent over 20 weeks in the motorhome last winter!
It's good to learn about "compact living" and to conserve resources, such as water!
If I had my way, we wouldn't have any other accommodation!
Live well!

I agree with you, even if everything is on a smaller scale. We have been using the motorhome as our home for a couple of weeks now. The son and his family from the US have temporarily taken over our apartment. They are five people and need the space. Personally, I find living this way is getting better and better, even though the views outside the window are the same night after night. During the day, our bedroom serves as a means of transport for various excursions.

We were out 2 weeks recently in the Motorhome!!!
Works great, we swim every other day!
It was also sunny and warm all the time, so it's probably possible
easier than if it was raining all the time !
Take care......

Lovely! And probably many homes have many square metres that are not used... At all... including my own...

I think you are good at making everything work in the motorhome with construction clothes and everything else. Travelling around and having a good time with the motorhome is another thing that I like very much.
Of course, I also wonder what we actually do with all the space we have?

I also think you can manage with a much smaller living space, but here we have now got used to living larger and we have so many things to store. Think of the "rules" that say that each person in a household should have access to their own room. No wonder the flats are expensive because they have to be so big.
This post certainly gave me some thoughts on the subject of accommodation.

THE question you ask yourself OFTEN especially when you have a large home with a car garage on wheels like us? BUT we do not want to take the risk of selling the villa to live on wheels permanently, think how messy it will be IF the car is in the workshop for a long time AND the facilities in some motorhomes are not as material developed / sustainable as in a home! But by all means the climate in the south is milder BUT the sun also wears down the materials etc on the vehicles ;-/

Frankie & Co, wishing you a great weekend on the roll!
Lennart, I also like the idea of saving a little. We can certainly top up water when we need it, but you think about it in a completely different way.
Henny, how handy that you have an extra home now that you need it!
Rolle and Carina, sure, it's easier when the weather is nice...!
ActiveDays, that's probably often the case...
Yes, sometimes it has been a bit messy... but it works!
Ditte, in the past people didn't live as large as they do today...
Lena, this is indeed an important aspect you raise. What happens when you have to repair? And you have to at some point...

The last two winters we have been out almost 6 months and it has been very good. I have never had the feeling that it was crowded. Hugs Elisabeth

Wonderful! I think you always strive for bigger but maybe you should go for the smaller?! 🙂

Elisabeth, great to hear! We could also continue to live in the motorhome without any problems. At least during the warm season.
Towis, yes, most people strive for more. It's not necessarily wrong, but I think you should at least think about what you want. Bigger is good if you want to be at home a lot, get involved in interior design, maybe a garden, etc. At the same time, you may have less money to spend on other things, which may give you less freedom. You should of course prioritise based on what is most important to you!

I'm guessing that the summer's outdoor activities can hardly be compared (just as easily) with the winter's cold winds and cures. Personally, I would probably get tired of the walls much faster when the outside is not as appealing.
But I don't understand the point of the huge accommodations - how would I be able to travel away from them? The rest of the time I would have to spend sorting out everything that had fallen into disrepair while I was away!
