We have a large window in the bathroom with a nice view of the water - but of course it has also been just as good a view. in in the bathroom. So far we've used a curtain, but that's a bit boring. Now Peter has put up solar film on the windows, which he bought at Mekonomen and which is usually used for car windows.
Almost hard to believe
We look almost as good as usual, but inside you can only see 4 per cent. When I try to look in from the outside, I only see my own reflection. The difficult thing now is to get used to it and actually trust that people don't see inside. After all, it feels unlikely when you yourself look ...
Lennart says:
Clever!
I can understand if you feel a bit naked!

Inga M says:
You get used to it! When we built the house, there was a mistake in the delivery, instead of frosted windows in the bathroom by the toilet, it became ordinary. At first we thought about changing it, but discovered that it was quite cosy to look out and philosophise a bit while staying here. There was always a blind if needed. It will be good with you with solar film.

How inventive your Peter is!
Oh hey - four per cent of your bodies can still be offered;-)

Maggan and Ingemar says:
What a clever solution..... Well, you don't want to miss the nice view.

Ditte says:
Good idea! Something to think about when needed.
You want to see out, of course, but the view is not as nice. And the film doesn't seem to affect the light in the boat, which is good.

Peter says:
Test how it works when it's dark outside and the light is on in the bathroom, there's a chance you'll be able to see in pretty well then....

How clever that is, but I can imagine that it is difficult to get used to. You think that if you look out, they look in haha!

Scottish Moments says:
Perfect solution. I ordered frosted film for our window and it didn't work at all. Will try this instead, thank you 🙂 .

Practical 🙂 Our bathroom window in the villa is larger and in raw glass but you should not trust it when darkness falls and lights the light there ;-/ So I have made a decorated fish tank with shells etc. so now it is safe 🙂

Ladies Abroad says:
I promise you will get used to it. I have exactly the same on the bathroom window in my apartment in Oslo on 1/2 stairs. At first I forgot myself and waved to the neighbours as they passed by the gate in the backyard, but no one ever waved back!

Mr Nils-Åke Hansson says:
Peter finds solutions for most things. There are not so many who run on the water but for your window. Good and fairly cheap solution, raw glass I know it cost a lot when I bought 20 years ago.
Nice to see how you get it in your home.

Katta's Considerations says:
In KL we had floor to ceiling windows in the bathrooms. we could see out but we couldn't see into other people's bathrooms and they couldn't see into ours either. I don't know what was on the glass as the film was attached to the outside. It was scary at first to shower on the 21st floor with glass walls. But after a while we thought it was cool to see the big city in all the neon.

Lennart, yes, so far I kind of want to draw the curtain anyway... haha!
Inga M, agrees. It's great to be able to look out over the water. Not so much fun when someone walks by on the dock....
😉
BP, haha, well we'll have to offer it then!
😉
Maggan and Ingemar, a bit unnecessary with a window if you always have a curtain...
Ditte, it gets a tiny bit darker, but there is very little difference.
Peter, haha, I will test properly... promise!!!
Sessie, it's kind of hard to believe. I'll double-check a few more times...
😉
Scottish Moments, really, didn't it work? This looks good. Just in case, I'll check a few more times though, in different lights.
Lena, I will check this in different lights too!
Ladies Abroad, haha, that might be a good test. I can try waving to the neighbours!
😉
Nils-Åke, not so many on the water perhaps, but the window faces the pier and there the neighbours pass by back and forth....
Katta, sounds a bit scary but also cool!
