Our friends have bought an apartment in Mechelinki in Poland. It is a newly built complex with a number of apartments with fantastic views of the sea. Mechelinki is quiet, but at the same time you can quickly get to bigger places like Sopot, Gdynia or Gdansk. Very nice location!

Almost fully built
In addition, it was super exciting to see the apartment here in Mechelinki. It was almost finished and our friends finally got their key. They'll love it here, we're sure of it!
Walking in Polish nature
We also had time to take a walk and look around the neighbourhood of Mechelinki, on the Polish Baltic Sea coast. And what can we say? As always, it's great to be by the sea, which is sometimes calm and sometimes roaring.
In addition, they have fantastic and intensely green deciduous forests in Poland. We have seen many birds (our bird-watching friend Lennart got a new tick when he saw a bird in the sky). Roskarl), lots of frogs and also we think we have heard ... wild boar.
"Welcome to coffee"
Our friends Lennart and Beata have become acquainted with the couple who are building their apartment. And suddenly they wanted to invite all four of us for coffee at their villa in Rumia, not far from Mechelinki. It was a large and luxurious villa in a nice residential area we came to. And coffee ...?
It all began with green pea soup and white wine, continued with the golanka (huge pig legs served with mustard and horseradish) and ended with coffee and pastries. Or no, it was not really over there ... Later in the evening there were skewers, more wine and whiskey.
And the next morning we had breakfast with bread, cold cuts, scrambled eggs and even more pastries. We promise we didn't leave hungry! And it's great to meet such nice people, who really offer themselves!

How nice and so close to the water! Can guess that there are still reasonable prices for lakeside accommodation in Poland, but it can quickly increase with the interest of Swedes, among others. With the increasingly tough restrictions on beach protection in Sweden, it will probably be interesting with the Polish coast. It is not so far away. Are your friends going to live here permanently or is it a summer house?

Oh so nice. Have been to Sopot; Gdynia and Gdansk and know how cosy it is. Gets really hungry to buy a beach villa in that village of Mechelinki (or how it was spelled) Too bad we have to travel the whole long Sweden before we arrive at the ferry port. Henny and Sten

Ditte, right now it feels a bit cold for swimming... otherwise it's perfect for swimming here!
BP, of course we plan to visit from time to time.
😉
No M, the prices are clearly much better than for similar locations in e.g. Sweden. It is a summer house for our friends. It is very fast and quite cheap to fly to Gdansk.
