A number of workshops were asked to carry out ordinary service jobs, and as many as 7 out of 8 failed! Sometimes they missed checkpoints even though they had been ticked off, which resulted in the customer having to pay for things that were not even done...!
It is important that the brakes work
One of the most important the things that have to work on a car are the brakes. The brake pad, which is an essential part of the system, is a consumable part that wears out every time you brake. So it is quite normal that it needs to be replaced after a while. How often depends a lot on the driver and his or her braking behaviour...

Of course, brakes are the most important thing on a car! It's cheap life insurance to have working brakes, brake hoses and pipes.
Now I would never do it myself, but I go to my favourite car repair shop;-)

I did a 6000 mile service at an Alfa Romeo workshop. After 200 miles of service, the camber went off. It was part of the service that it should be replaced. "It wasn't bad", said the mechanic, so I didn't change it. The car then sat with the engine open for almost a year. Who would pay for this? I was forced to buy a new toy, a four-wheel drive Alfa.

Saw the programme and it's scary how they have the nerve to cheat like they do.
The brakes are really important... what a horror if they don't work in a critical situation.

Then it is good to have a workshop where you know the owner and he has had to take care of the cars you have for many years. I don't think he would ever cheat, because then he gets bad publicity. Our guy / old man is great.
