There is always something happening in the marina! A few days ago we could watch a lifeboat exercise from our window, you know with those lifeboats on big boats. They threw the lifeboat upside down and turned it in the water. It's good to see that these things are practised!
Good practice!
We have sometimes looked at the lifeboats on board large boats and realised that it doesn't look easy to make them work as intended. And then you hope that the crew has practised!

Exciting to be able to follow that exercise from the front row.

It is said that practice makes perfect and we have hoped for that when travelling with larger ships. But I always take an extra look, even if we only cross to Åland. It's good to be a little prepared. This was not the case on the Estonia... I travelled on that ship a couple of weeks before she sank. Nowadays I always live high up in a ship and with windows. So I can keep an eye on the situation ...

We have lifeboat drills at work all the time! It's tough sometimes, but it's great that we get to do it on board.

I would have liked to see that. I like to look at things like that. I also wonder about the lifeboats on big ferries and cruise ships. How fast do they get them down?
When I have cruised in the Caribbean, I have seen the crew really practising! They lower the boats, and they really practise.
I once saw such an exercise in Mariehamn too. But it should probably be practised quite often as I think it is easy to forget how to do it quickly and efficiently.

There seems to be a lot going on in your marina. Nice to see that they train ... it is probably needed. Hugs

Ama de casa, sometimes it's the first parquet here
🙂
Ditte, we looked at the lifeboats a lot when we travelled on the Poland ferry, but it wasn't easy to figure out how to do it....
Malin, thank you! How nice that you want to follow our journey!
🙂
FantasyDining, how good that you have such exercises! It is nice to hear as a traveller
🙂
Annika, I also think it can be difficult. It probably works well if you have time, but if the boat leans heavily and sinks quickly... and it's stormy. Huh, not easy then!
Deciree, something usually happens...
😉
BP, it's rarely boring here!
