Firstly, a big THANK YOU to all of you wonderful readers who have shared your experiences when it comes to getting LPG in Spain and Portugal. It has felt so nice to get your response and it has been fantastic with all the good tips! But it has not been easy ...
Find refuelling stations
We started by looking for refuelling stations that perhaps could refill our French or Swedish LPG tanks. There were a few trips to different "Repsol" and "CEPSA", but the result was the same on all occasions "No, no! No possible. Lo siento."
Get an adapter
The next step was to try to get an adapter and reducing valve to buy a Spanish bottle. We wandered around for a while looking for "ferreterias" (hardware stores) in Gijón, before finding a large shop in an industrial area. We got a mojang that might have solved our problems. But see, it wasn't that simple!
Buying a gas tube
When we tried to buy LPG tanks at petrol stations, we got the short end of the stick. If we didn't have a Spanish tube to swap in, we had to get papers and certificates from the Spanish authorities. So ... now we have actually given up! We are sleeping in a car park in Tapia de Casariego tonight and hope that the gas is enough, or that it doesn't get too cold. Tomorrow we will drive towards Portugal!

Mr Nils-Åke Hansson says:
It's strange how different it can be I went into a hardware store and bought a Spanish bottle with a clutch. Beware - good and pay 42 Euro all done.
I hope things work out for you in Portugal. Talk to people about how they do it and borrow adapters from those who have stuffing.

Birgitta says:
If you are a member of the Husbilsklubben, you can get many tips on how to solve the LPG problem. Husbilsklubben.se Neither Portugal, France, Germany nor Spain fill Swedish ordinary gas bottles. In Spain you can solve the requirements for certificates etc. by standing at a campsite and asking them to help. Then you can rent a cylinder and they will help you with the connection. To get the rent back, you have to return the bottle. It's the same in France. But if you are going to be out for a year, you might want to install LPG, which is a fixed cylinder that can then be "refuelled" throughout Europe at most stations. LPG LPG is not allowed to fill yourself but the staff does.
Enjoy the rest of your journey

Nils-Åke, how funny! For us it has been impossible... even though we have received a lot of good tips!
FantasyDining, we haven't been there either, so we're looking forward to that too!
ActiveDays, don't know what we would do without the Internet right now! Absolutely fantastic with all blog friends!
Åsa, it has been really complicated, but we think it will be easier in Portugal. And definitely, it's nice here. We are standing so that we can see the water!
Birgitta, thank you for your answer! We did not know that the campsite can help. Good tip! In France we didn't have the same problem, it was easy to buy LPG bottles! And yes, we are members of the motorhome club, very good information there!!!

But oh so complicated you have got it with the gas bottle. Have not read that anyone has written that it was so difficult to get a gas bottle in Spain, wondering how everyone else has done then.
Let's hope it works out.

JoY, some people probably have fixed tanks that they can fill. Others seem to have bought tubes, no problem. Don't know why it's so difficult here... nobody wants to sell to us.
Agneta, now it's starting to get a little warmer so we will probably manage! But we need LPG to cook too, we try to fix it! Good continuation!
