Now we have found a pitch in Veulettes-sur-Mer on the Normandy coast. The cliffs are dramatic and the wind is so strong that the motorhome door flies open when you open it. The sea is spraying fradga and a lone kite surfer is enjoying himself at high speed on the waves.
Strong winds
The motorhome rocks a little in the wind and it feels ... almost like on a boat. We're going to have a quiet evening now, try to unwind a bit. We've gone for a walk along the sea and it's really beautiful here, but we're freezing. It was really cold in the wind, even though we put on most of our clothes. everything we had. Now it will be nice to just take it easy and warm up in the motorhome!
Motorhome parking in Veulettes-sur-Mer
Just down by the sea in Veulettes-sur-Mer is a caravan park. It's free to park here, as is often the case with caravan parks in France. If you need electricity or water, you can pay with tokens from a vending machine, which you can buy at the tourist office.
Now when we arrived here, in early December, the site was relatively empty. It was also quite windy, as there is no shelter from the sea. Still, we thought this is a nice and practical site, and the view of the sea is fantastic.

It was in Veulettes-sur-Mer that we picked up a chalk ball from the beach and wrote with it on a board on the wall facing the sea. We wrote our names and the date 19/9-11. Soon the rain and wind had erased our writing. Nice even then to crawl into the motorhome. Otherwise you could visit the village Casino at that time of the year!!! Honfleur next?

Then you are on historical ground because there is so much to see and experience in Normandy. We were there a few years ago, in summer, and then the weather was inviting and we made our way in the "D-Day" spirit. Recommend a visit to Pegasus Bridge and one of the cemeteries with all their white crosses in dense rows.
Hope you can get at least a little warmer...
