Today we rolled the campervan to the beach in Galé on the outskirts of Albufeira, here in the south of Portugal. We haven't exercised for ages, so today was the day! We went jogging on the beach and did some occasional exercises from our usual training programme. It's good to be up and running again! Then it was tuna salad on the beach and a few lazy hours in the sun.
Apolonia supermarket
Yesterday we ended up in a supermarket called Apolonia when we went shopping. Very exclusively, and very far from fitting our wallets. Everyday products such as tuna and yoghurt were so expensive that we weighed them in our hands for a long time before we dared to buy them.
We came out with a few goods sloshing in the basket ... haha. Today we had to shop again, and now it was Lidl (just in case). A rather boring business I think, but now we have at least replenished the supplies!
Training on the beach
Exercising on the beach is not bad! It's hard to jog in the sand, but the view makes it worth it! The beach in Galé is incredibly beautiful. On one side it's long and flat - and that's where we jog - and on the other side it's full of coves and rock formations - and that's where we sunbathe and picnic. It's also convenient that it's so close from the city centre. Albufeira, where we "live" with the motorhome.
Mr Steve says:
Judging by the pictures, you are now having a well-deserved good time. Well, except for having to shop at Lidl then. But, a wonderful feeling anyway to have the supplies filled.
"On the other side, the beach is even cooler!" I recognise that image.

Would have liked to see you tap out there...! 🙂 Glad that Portugal shows itself from its best side for you! Enjoy! PS. Carveiro was the name of the nice little town on the Algarve that we could recommend, but it looks nice where you are now too! Hugs to you!

Steve, haha, maybe Klippan has been caught on camera before...?
Åsa, haha, yes, right? Ok, will check where that city is! But absolutely, it is very nice here and in this weather you do not get tired!
Scottish Moments, it felt like an obvious and good tip in this context! Then I am happy to tip!
🙂
Rolle and Carina, it sounds like good training! Always good to walk in terrain ... and of course best when you get regularity!

I would also like to imagine jogging on that beach....I would probably need it now after all the sedentary work...But walks are also good.
Sad to see such an expensive deal.....Not what you expected.
Long time since I was in Portugal, but have been to Monte Gordo near the Spanish border. But I don't remember it being that expensive. Maybe this shop was particularly exclusive ....
Maybe there are markets for fruit and vegetables?

Marina, we are staying for a while, so we will come back with more pictures. So you can see if you recognise it after 25 years!
😉
Ama de casa, we can shop for wine there! And some basic goods are excellent too
😉
Henny, thank you, we will do that!
Ditte, this was an extra exclusive shop I think! It's not particularly expensive otherwise.
FantasyDining, we like Portugal!

Lucky for you that you did not head towards us here in Greece but instead can lie and enjoy the beach in Portugal! Here in Crete it is full winter with snow on the mountains and right now 2 degrees down here by the sea! Njuuuut!!!

Helena, the beach with rock formations really attracts photography!
Anita, how cold you are! It also gets cold at night, but during the day it gets warm in the sun. We may come to Greece, but later.
